He found their phones, handing them to KK, then stood just as the police entered through the front door. The upside-down Audi smashed against the pavement in front of an oncoming garbage truck. KK turned his head, looking across the passenger seat, in time to see the smoke from the brakes of the truck as it attempted to stop before striking him.
