19: Karmina

The frightening revelation settled after a long, awkward moment. Karmina stared as Ariel's wings curled in and disappeared. The holy light that enveloped her gradually faded. The glow in her eyes diminished and she appeared normal once again.

Ariel let out a sigh as she retreated to the chair that had launched backward from the force of her transformation and sat it upright again. "Please. Do not have me do that again." She said as she took her seat once more.

"You..." Karmina stuttered. "You are..." Her trembling hand covered her mouth as she backed away from the iron bars. Her back pressed up against the cold stone wall.

"Yes. I am." Ariel stated. "Now, enough about myself." She inclined her head. "I am here because of you, Karmina. Your actions have put you in this predicament."

"Are you..?" Karmina swallowed back her fear. She knew little about Angels and Demons, aside that they were beings not to be involved with. "If you are here to pass judgement, then..."

"Yes." Ariel sa
