Chapter 13

Elias returned to his normal self when we returned to the forest. I felt he was in denial of everything that happened in Phoenix but I wasn't about to pester him about it when he didn't want to talk about it.

I was just afraid of when reality hit him like a freight train nine months later.

Like Storm instructed we hiked into the forest and stood in a clearing on a sunny midday. Elias wasn't sure what a Leprechaun's weakness was which made him angsty. "I carried a pistol," he said kicking some leaves out of the circular path.

"Is that necessary?" I asked taking the small bell out of my pocket.

"I don't know its weakness but since it comes from the fae realm maybe iron will do the trick just as well."

"You ready?" I asked and he nodded. "Try not hurt it, Elias." We had a plan. I was going to ring the bell and Elias was going to hold the creature down long enough for me to look into its eyes.
