Singto followed Krist’s pace and ran in front of him. “Krist… are you okay?”
Krist refused to look at him. He knew that once he did, he’d only fall apart. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
He brushed past him trying to avoid anymore of this, but that didn’t stop Singto. He grabbed Krist’s wrist making him stop walking entirely. “It’s okay… to not be fine.” K

Singto wanted to start the conversation with a positive note before getting to his point, or overall message that he wishes to deliver to Krist, and hopefully make him feel a bit better. “When I was told that I would be living with Harvey, I felt extremely grateful and blessed to have someone who wanted to welcome me into their home.” Krist looked over at Singto’s knees and fiddled with his thumbs as he spoke. “And then, I met Emmie and was even more excited to begin this new life. I felt like I got another chance, another option. And this house felt so warm and sheltered…”

After sharing the kiss, Singto felt even more tense than usual. Whenever he was close to Krist, he’d lose all of his composure and become this human who’s incapable of doing much of anything. The thing is, that was Singto’s very first kiss and he didn’t know how to act normal after that. Krist seemed to be doing okay though, considering that his dad was sent to a different care facility and his illness was taking over him. The part that helped him go through this the most, is the fact that he knew this was coming and he was prepared for it. And of course, having Singto by his side, comforting him with his kind words, definitely eased this difficult process.

10 days later…Two weeks have officially gone by of Krist and Singto having the whole house to themselves. This means that some time today Emmie and Harvey will be retuning to their home from their hectic business trips. Within those two weeks, a lot has happened. From left to right, balloons were thrown haphazardly towards one another, and whenever either one had a hit; it was followed by shouting some sort of profanity. And once the water balloons were all used up, Krist decided to chase Singto, since he was the first to start this battle. “Get back here!” He shouted towards Singto who was running the opposite direction.“No, you’re going to hurt me!”

“Dad’s condition got worse… he… he’s been moved to a hospital sort of care…” As his voice trailed off, he felt Singto’s hand rest above his. His eyes faced toward as he sat close to his boyfriend. “Well, you know when Harvey started telling us about how being in a relationship with someone isn’t what it’s always cut out to be?” Singto look over to see Krist nod. “It’s just made me worried, I guess.”Talking about his feelings so openly with someone is still a skill that he is getting used to, but Singto has found that Krist is actually a pretty easy to talk to, despite the way he is around most people.

Another week has gone by, officially ending the first month of summer vacation. And even though it is the summer, in this town hot and sunny days don’t last for longer than a month. The cooler seasons come very quickly, leaving only a few weeks for people to enjoy the very few hot and summery days. So it is common to see many people dressed in clothes you would normally see worn when it was fall, or winter season. This isn’t really a problem for some, but for others it is not as much of a joy. For example, Krist enjoys the cold. It makes him feel calm and less agitated. Something about the cool atmosphere clears his head and makes him feel more at ease.
