I finished cleaning in the kitchen, and everything was ready for the Alpha, and Lucas to be here. I didn’t know if there would be anyone else coming, but I prepared a lot more.

“You should leave, you’re not part of the family, I don’t want you here when the Alpha comes,” Judy grumbled under her breath. She wore a blue dress, and her makeup was beautiful highlighting her face. Her blue dress was a strapless hand, and her push-up bra showed her cleavage.

Hera looked at me, her hair was done up, her face covered in makeup, almost turning her tanned skin completely white, and she a red lipstick.

“We can’t afford to make any mistakes tonight, Mom. It’s important,” Judy insisted. “Just send her somewhere away from the house, and we don’t have to see her till the Alpha is gone.”

“Who is going to attend the Alpha when he comes, he won’t care about someone like her, you know how Alpha Hector is, he’s very strict and wicked. If there’s any mistake tonight, we can blame it on her.”

“Leave her, let her act as the servant,” Hera concluded, and Judy rolled her eyes at me, she wanted me out of here.

I doubt if she told her parents I was the one who was mated to Lucas before he rejected me.

It doesn’t matter, does it? She was still the chosen one.

The dinner table was set, I wasn’t allowed to have a taste of the meal I made, I was only allowed to eat when they were done eating.

My apron was stained, there was no chance left to have my clothes changed, and I could hear the sound of the car horn at the gate.

My father had stepped out of the house to welcome them, the Alpha was at the house.

I remained in the kitchen, I was going to remain there until I was called for or my presence was needed.

I slid down beside the kitchen door, I heard their voices, my wolf stirred in me, was she waking up now, she had been dead conscious since the rejection.

I heard her whimpering, and I started to sniff the air.

Her senses were awake and the same was her smell.

The scent hit my nostrils, cedarwood, and like mist.

I felt the presence of the Alpha, and there was someone else with that smell that came with them, the one whose smell had stirred up my wolf again.

‘What is it, Tella?’ I asked my wolf.

‘Something doesn’t feel right.’ She replied.

‘Can we go out?’

‘We can’t.’ I retorted.

We can’t leave the kitchen unless we are asked to, and we can’t just move around.

‘You simply do anything, Avery. You’re worse than I am, are you going to keep running away from everything? It won’t solve anything.’ I didn’t have to reply to her.

I shrank back into the wall, they were heading towards the dining room, and the dining area was close to the kitchen. Their voices came out a bit louder.

“Is this your only daughter?”

Why does that voice sound familiar?

“Yes, she’s our only child,” Hera answered sharply.

“I’m asking the Gamma, is she your only daughter?” The voice asked again.

I leaned close to the kitchen door, I wanted to hear what his answers would be.

What would my father say to them while I brace myself for another rejection?

“Yes, Judy is my only daughter.”

My shoulder sank. What did I expect?

“Am I supposed to serve myself?” His authoritative voice, he might be the Alpha.

I was anxious to face them, I didn’t want to face any humiliation, and I didn’t want to be embarrassed before them.

I came out of the kitchen, my head lowered, staring at their feet covered in expensive loafers that I couldn’t even afford if I worked for a lifetime.

“Alpha, she will attend to you,” Hera nudged me forward.

“Who is she?” He asked, and I lifted my head a little, slanting it over at his side. I have heard those voices before, and the smell came from him. He was the one who had made my wolf react earlier and she was acting up again.

I stared at him keenly, ‘mate.’ I heard my wolf’s voice in my head, and I tried to ignore the feeling that she wasn’t right because I started to panic.

I urged my wolf. Tella. ‘Let’s get out of here, I can’t do this again. We are not strong enough to handle a second rejection. We can’t handle it.’

And the humiliation that comes with it, I could remember vividly their sheer laughter at the mating ceremony.

Lucas snorted at me, with a dark glare.

I took a step back from them, gripping tightly to my stained apron.

Fear clouded my thoughts.

“One of our servants.” Hera smiled.

I saw his side view, the jawline, pointed nose, and lips, when he turned and caught my stare.

I gasped.

He was the man from that night.

He was the Alpha?

How did I not know that? But he wasn’t just the Alpha but my second chance mate:

‘Your senses were knocked.’

‘It was because of you,’ I responded to my wolf.

‘We needed time to heal.’ She snapped back at me.

‘He’s going to reject us,’ I mumbled.

He was Alpha, it was entirely different from Lucas, he was of the Pack!

Beside him was Lucas, the blonde haired man who has rejected me. I heard he dated Judy in college, though they broke up, and came back again because he couldn’t find his mate, only to find her and reject her.

And him.

The Alpha.

I felt my breath hang in my throat. I held the kettle and was about to pour some tea into his cup. I tried to stop my hand from trembling, but I couldn’t, the kettle slipped out of my hand, the tea poured on him, and some splash on their bodies across the table.

“So clumsy!” The older woman in the middle seated between the Alpha and Lucas, around the same age as Hera exclaimed.

“I’m so sorry.” I rasped with my body palpitating.

Was she Lucas’ Mom?

They had the same blonde hair.

His hand brushed against mine while I tried to dry up the tea I poured on his laps with the handkerchief on the table.

I darted my eyes to him in shock. My heart was pounding so fast with each movement he made, was he going to criticize me? Curse at me, hit me or reject me at this instant.

He took my hand off his lap, his silver eyes staring intently into me. “It’s enough.”

The tea was hot, and I’m sure that must have burned a little, though he was wearing a black pants.

I lowered my head. “I’m sorry, Alpha.”

“She’s so stupid!” Hera cursed.

“I heard she is your daughter. Gamma Williams, why do you lie to me?” His voice was calm, and he was distracting me from the fact he had his hand on mine.

“She’s just an illegitimate child, Alpha.” My father stood up and lowered his head, his head almost dropping at the table.

“So?”

“She’s not recognized and part of the family, moreover she’s from another pack.”

“Not another word from you, or I’ll have your tongue slit out and served right here.” His gothic tone made me shudder but his words were directed at Hera. Judy slipped her hand off Lucas’ arm.

“I’m sorry, Alpha.” My father apologized, he had his head down the entire time.

“Alpha, why are you making a fuss over this? It shouldn’t be an issue.” The woman beside Lucas said.

She glanced at me, taking my entire look over in a second, and scrunched her nose. “She’s not worth it, look at the mess she made!”

“Don’t speak to her that way.” He gritted out.

“Why?” She asked curiously.

“Because she’s my mate.”

“And that’s the reason I came here, to claim her.”

Avery. I watched him shift and it felt like the easiest and sexiest thing he had ever done. We were outside the space, out of the pack house. The moon was up, and beside me was a huge brown wolf, which I hadn't expected. His wolf was so beautiful, with an entirely flawless look. He moved closer to me, and I ran my hand over his furs, he lowered his body, and I was reluctant and he stared at me, with those eyes that looked like blue flames. I got on him and held tight to him. He lifted himself when I was on his back, he started slowly, with a slow walk into the woods. I was anxious even while I was with him, I wanted him to be careful, but he was already careful enough, and I seemed to be the one who wasn’t settled. The moon shone while we passed through the tall trees and grasses, I saw the fireflies as we walked, and I reached out to touch some. He kept walking gently further into the woods, he was taking me to the heart of the pack. He said it was one of the calmest places t

Alpha Hector. I sat next to Avery by the bed at the pack house. I wanted her to open her eyes because she had passed out earlier. I was able to make it out, without the car crashing, and without her getting injured, but the only problem I had was her waking up, but she wasn’t responding quickly to it. “Alpha, you sent for me.” “Find out what happened, why the brake suddenly, and the car’s tire that was damaged.” I said without staring at him. “Someone did it. Someone from the house, take all of them to the prison house, I would have them tortured.” “Yes, alpha.”“What did the doctor say?”“He said there’s nothing wrong with her, she’s not in any sort of danger, and she will be awake soon.” He lowered his head. “I guess it was a past trauma,” I muttered beneath my breath and stared down at her. “What about the meeting with your family?”“When she wakes up. I will call for it.” He nodded and took a step back, he headed towards the door. I sighed with my hands folded, and watch

  • Too Clumsy To Be Luna   Is this all a coincidence?

Avery. Tonight, he was taking me to the pack house. I was waiting for him. He said he was going to come pick me up. I was already dressed in the blue gown, I wore the necklace, and the white heels. I didn’t let my hair down, I had it packed, I wanted the necklace to be a bit more visible. “You’re ready for the Alpha, Miss Avery.” The maid said she was the one who helped me to dress up, she wanted to apply some makeup on my face, but I didn’t want that, I didn’t think I would be going with it. She had my nails neatly polished, and I was satisfied with them. I stared at my face in the mirror. “I don’t need it, do I?” “You are very beautiful without the makeup on, Miss Avery.”I scrolled. “You don’t have to lie to me, we are the only ones here.” “Why would I lie to you?” “I’m just stating a fact.” She shrugged lightly. I stared at her to see if she was saying all of that just to appease me because I was with the Alpha, and didn’t want to say the truth. I turned to the mirror

Avery. He watched me come downstairs in one of the dresses, his gaze was skeptical, I was shy because I wore heels too. I had to be careful of my steps, his finger went to his jawline, and he rubbed it gently, before I got close. He shook his head at me. “Change.” It was a simple order. I replied with a cranky smile and turned back to the stairs, he held the magazine and flipped through it. “We don’t have the whole night for this, Avery.” I heard him mutter, and I went back to the room to get changed. Everything I brought was on the bed, the clothes which I thought were decent enough, the shoes, and the bags. This was the seventh wear, and he didn’t seem pleased with anything. I expected it. He never thought about what the occasion was for, how I was supposed to know what I was going to get.I groaned as I fished out the next bag and took the dress out of it, this was a blue dress, like a mist blue, and with an open back, strapless, and flared at the waist, I remembered wheat

Avery. I didn’t know what I should feel about the news, excited, anxious, worried, scared but above all, he was going to make me Luna. He said he was going to make me Luna!I kept pacing in the room, I didn’t know what to do. If he was truly going to make me his Luna, the Alpha was going to keep me. The pain and weak muscles from earlier seemed to have healed, and I was lost in thought. I wouldn’t be able to go back to my father, I would face Judy or her mother, Hera. I will be here or close to the Alpha, wherever he is going to take me. I stopped pacing, and sat on the bed, my feet tapping on the floor. I felt like I was starting up a new experience, the one I completely had no idea about, unlike Judy, this was what she had been prepared for all her life. I have never thought this far for myself, and now, I should get ready to be Luna. Luna. Oh gracious. “Miss Avery.” I got up from the bed. “Yes.” “A call came from the Alpha, if there’s anything that you might need, and

Alpha Hector. “…I suspected that something was wrong, you were going in and out of the Pack house late at night, and sometimes you didn't return home. I found those men dead and I’m quite sure your Beta must have told you about it. They were killed and their bodies hidden, then I had a thought…” He stepped closer and I waved at the guard to back down and leave. “How can such a thing happen in the Pack and the Alpha has no idea about it, it doesn’t make sense because you overlook everything that goes on in the Pack. And I found out it was the Beta who killed them, because he had a unique way of killing his prey. I traced it down to him and I wasn’t wrong about it.”“And the only person who can order the Beta to do anything because he can’t act on his own is the Alpha.” “Which is no other than my beloved Uncle.” I ignored the sarcasm in his voice. “This morning, I decided to follow you, I saw you taking some things into the car which looked quite personal. You have never been to th
