Avery.

It’s been three days since I got rejected, and I lost my diary that night. I thought I picked it up with me, turns out I never did.

My wolf was healing and slowly coming out of her shell. My father saw how sick I was, he never mentioned anything about it. I was hemming Judy’s dress because the Alpha was coming, alongside her mate.

The one who rejected me—Lucas. They were coming over to the house to dine with my father, Hera, and Judy.

As if the moon goddess decided to hurt me even more, I would have to face the man who rejected me, right in front of this family.

I only heard about the Alpha of the pack, that he was a rich bachelor, and he had a personal harem filled with girls for sinful pleasures.

How could such a man be Alpha?

He has no rules, no dignity, no respect for women.

The thought made me remember the night of the mating ceremony in the woods, and the man who had kissed the tears on my eyes.

I was never going to see him again.

I went back to preparing the menu for the dinner as well, making a cake, decorating the house, making sure everything was clean, and the floor was sparkling without a single dust.

The night my mother died, my father was the one they called, he drove over to the Pack in his Sienna, the funeral rites went quietly. It rained the whole day, I was accused of her death, that if I had been there that day, she wouldn't have died, there would have been someone to help her, someone would have been there but the only child she had left her.

Who could she have called for help?

When I wasn’t there.

My mother was the one he had an affair with, and I was five years old when we got into an accident, and our lives took a bad turn after it. After the accident, my mom was disabled, stuck in a wheelchair for life, though I had some minor injuries, but the impact was on my wolf, so I became unable to shift.

He never came until she died.

That was when he came to take me to his pack, to his family, he looked happy with his wife Hera and daughter Judy, and I felt like I didn’t belong here, I was the illegitimate child.

Judy was two years older than I was, she treated everybody like they were beneath her, she was respected even by her parents, and everyone wanted to please her.

It became worse when she was going to get married to Lucas, there was hope for her to be Luna of the Pack.

With someone as pretty as Judy, and the other gorgeous she-wolves in the pack, a lot prettier than me.

Why will Lucas choose to accept the mating bond between us? He wouldn’t want someone as frumpy and unattractive as me.

Well, I get to do whatever Judy asks me to.

No complaints, no arguments.

I went back into the kitchen to get tea for Hera before she started screaming my name.

I stirred the teacup, placed them in a tray with some fruit salad. I took the stairs, heading towards her bedroom to serve her.

“…so what, William?”

“I did that so what?” I heard Hera’s voice and halted by the door.

“That’s why I want you to act calmly, you made her sleep in the attic.”

“You never complained about it? Or have you forgotten what you did? She was a mistake, a mistake that you made with a woman you brought here. A servant, a poor rat birthed her, she stinks from her hair down to her toes!”

“I knew that’s why I never went there even after the accident that happened, I was supposed to be there because she was still my daughter. I had to take responsibility for what I did but I couldn’t go because of you, knowing you were the one who caused the accident. Knowing you did that to her and her mother, I couldn’t bring myself to face them!”

“I couldn’t let her off after I found out she was the one you cheated on me with, and now you brought the daughter to me…”

My hand trembled against the tray, I gasped, my sight getting blurry. I hurried back to the kitchen, dropped the tray on the cabinet, my hand over my mouth, muffled the sound as I cried.

I hid at the back of the kitchen door, sliding down to my knees.

I shook my head. ‘It can’t be.’

‘This can’t be true.’

I pushed my hair backwards, and tears rolled down my cheeks.

“Avery!” I heard her loud voice, and the bell she rang. She was at the top of the stairs. “I want my tea served now!” She ordered.

I wiped the tear off my face, I stood up from the ground, grabbed the tray, and walked out of the kitchen, my breath shaking with every step I took.

“Be quick.”

“The Alpha and Judy’s mate will be here soon. Is her dress ready? You can’t afford to miss anything, or else I would send you out of my house.” It was a threat she meant. She never wanted me here anyway.

“Your tea is here, Hera.”

“Take it to my bedroom,”

I walked past her on the stairs to her bedroom, opened the door, and placed it on her bed.

I caught my reflection in the mirror, red puffy eyes, red nose, pale cheeks.

This feeling of self-loathing came right back, glaring at me through the mirror.

Hera caused the accident, the reason I couldn’t shift was her, I blamed my mom for it.

The tears threatened to drop again, I batted my lashes furiously and sniffed.

“Will you get to work?!” She snapped. “I hate you breathing next to me, don’t get close to me.” She warned.

I clenched my fist and came out of the room, walked back into the kitchen, I was done with Judy’s dress, she had been in her room the whole morning ordering me around the house.

“When I become Luna, I will banish you from this pack, because I can’t stand you ruining this family.” Judy hissed when I dropped her dress with her.

I kept my face neutral.

“But you’re settling to be his chosen mate, fate brought me and Lucas together.”

She got up from the bed.

“Say that again you bastard!”

She hit me across the face before I could speak. The night before we went out for the mating ceremony, she wanted me to act like I had no idea who she was, and I was in no way related to her.

“Get out you pig!”

“Out!” She screamed and pushed me. “At least I will be the one with Lucas and not you, do you think you can find anyone better? You will only end up like your miserable mother.”

I stopped in my tracks at her words.

“That’s enough.” I heard a voice at the door. It was my so-called father, Williams.

“Would you stop exchanging words with Judy, give her some respect and could you please return to the kitchen get things cleaned and dinner started,”

“The Alpha is on their way here, get dressed Judy, this is a huge opportunity for our family.”

Avery. I watched him shift and it felt like the easiest and sexiest thing he had ever done. We were outside the space, out of the pack house. The moon was up, and beside me was a huge brown wolf, which I hadn't expected. His wolf was so beautiful, with an entirely flawless look. He moved closer to me, and I ran my hand over his furs, he lowered his body, and I was reluctant and he stared at me, with those eyes that looked like blue flames. I got on him and held tight to him. He lifted himself when I was on his back, he started slowly, with a slow walk into the woods. I was anxious even while I was with him, I wanted him to be careful, but he was already careful enough, and I seemed to be the one who wasn’t settled. The moon shone while we passed through the tall trees and grasses, I saw the fireflies as we walked, and I reached out to touch some. He kept walking gently further into the woods, he was taking me to the heart of the pack. He said it was one of the calmest places t

Alpha Hector. I sat next to Avery by the bed at the pack house. I wanted her to open her eyes because she had passed out earlier. I was able to make it out, without the car crashing, and without her getting injured, but the only problem I had was her waking up, but she wasn’t responding quickly to it. “Alpha, you sent for me.” “Find out what happened, why the brake suddenly, and the car’s tire that was damaged.” I said without staring at him. “Someone did it. Someone from the house, take all of them to the prison house, I would have them tortured.” “Yes, alpha.”“What did the doctor say?”“He said there’s nothing wrong with her, she’s not in any sort of danger, and she will be awake soon.” He lowered his head. “I guess it was a past trauma,” I muttered beneath my breath and stared down at her. “What about the meeting with your family?”“When she wakes up. I will call for it.” He nodded and took a step back, he headed towards the door. I sighed with my hands folded, and watch

  • Too Clumsy To Be Luna   Is this all a coincidence?

Avery. Tonight, he was taking me to the pack house. I was waiting for him. He said he was going to come pick me up. I was already dressed in the blue gown, I wore the necklace, and the white heels. I didn’t let my hair down, I had it packed, I wanted the necklace to be a bit more visible. “You’re ready for the Alpha, Miss Avery.” The maid said she was the one who helped me to dress up, she wanted to apply some makeup on my face, but I didn’t want that, I didn’t think I would be going with it. She had my nails neatly polished, and I was satisfied with them. I stared at my face in the mirror. “I don’t need it, do I?” “You are very beautiful without the makeup on, Miss Avery.”I scrolled. “You don’t have to lie to me, we are the only ones here.” “Why would I lie to you?” “I’m just stating a fact.” She shrugged lightly. I stared at her to see if she was saying all of that just to appease me because I was with the Alpha, and didn’t want to say the truth. I turned to the mirror

Avery. He watched me come downstairs in one of the dresses, his gaze was skeptical, I was shy because I wore heels too. I had to be careful of my steps, his finger went to his jawline, and he rubbed it gently, before I got close. He shook his head at me. “Change.” It was a simple order. I replied with a cranky smile and turned back to the stairs, he held the magazine and flipped through it. “We don’t have the whole night for this, Avery.” I heard him mutter, and I went back to the room to get changed. Everything I brought was on the bed, the clothes which I thought were decent enough, the shoes, and the bags. This was the seventh wear, and he didn’t seem pleased with anything. I expected it. He never thought about what the occasion was for, how I was supposed to know what I was going to get.I groaned as I fished out the next bag and took the dress out of it, this was a blue dress, like a mist blue, and with an open back, strapless, and flared at the waist, I remembered wheat

Avery. I didn’t know what I should feel about the news, excited, anxious, worried, scared but above all, he was going to make me Luna. He said he was going to make me Luna!I kept pacing in the room, I didn’t know what to do. If he was truly going to make me his Luna, the Alpha was going to keep me. The pain and weak muscles from earlier seemed to have healed, and I was lost in thought. I wouldn’t be able to go back to my father, I would face Judy or her mother, Hera. I will be here or close to the Alpha, wherever he is going to take me. I stopped pacing, and sat on the bed, my feet tapping on the floor. I felt like I was starting up a new experience, the one I completely had no idea about, unlike Judy, this was what she had been prepared for all her life. I have never thought this far for myself, and now, I should get ready to be Luna. Luna. Oh gracious. “Miss Avery.” I got up from the bed. “Yes.” “A call came from the Alpha, if there’s anything that you might need, and

Alpha Hector. “…I suspected that something was wrong, you were going in and out of the Pack house late at night, and sometimes you didn't return home. I found those men dead and I’m quite sure your Beta must have told you about it. They were killed and their bodies hidden, then I had a thought…” He stepped closer and I waved at the guard to back down and leave. “How can such a thing happen in the Pack and the Alpha has no idea about it, it doesn’t make sense because you overlook everything that goes on in the Pack. And I found out it was the Beta who killed them, because he had a unique way of killing his prey. I traced it down to him and I wasn’t wrong about it.”“And the only person who can order the Beta to do anything because he can’t act on his own is the Alpha.” “Which is no other than my beloved Uncle.” I ignored the sarcasm in his voice. “This morning, I decided to follow you, I saw you taking some things into the car which looked quite personal. You have never been to th
