It’s been three days since I got rejected, and I lost my diary that night. I thought I picked it up with me, turns out I never did. My wolf was healing and slowly coming out of her shell. My father saw how sick I was, he never mentioned anything about it. I was hemming Judy’s dress because the Alpha was coming, alongside her mate. The one who rejected me—Lucas. They were coming over to the house to dine with my father, Hera, and Judy. As if the moon goddess decided to hurt me even more, I would have to face the man who rejected me, right in front of this family. I only heard about the Alpha of the pack, that he was a rich bachelor, and he had a personal harem filled with girls for sinful pleasures. How could such a man be Alpha? He has no rules, no dignity, no respect for women. The thought made me remember the night of the mating ceremony in the woods, and the man who had kissed the tears on my eyes. I was never going to see him again. I went back to preparing the menu for the dinner as well, making a cake, decorating the house, making sure everything was clean, and the floor was sparkling without a single dust. The night my mother died, my father was the one they called, he drove over to the Pack in his Sienna, the funeral rites went quietly. It rained the whole day, I was accused of her death, that if I had been there that day, she wouldn't have died, there would have been someone to help her, someone would have been there but the only child she had left her. Who could she have called for help? When I wasn’t there. My mother was the one he had an affair with, and I was five years old when we got into an accident, and our lives took a bad turn after it. After the accident, my mom was disabled, stuck in a wheelchair for life, though I had some minor injuries, but the impact was on my wolf, so I became unable to shift. He never came until she died. That was when he came to take me to his pack, to his family, he looked happy with his wife Hera and daughter Judy, and I felt like I didn’t belong here, I was the illegitimate child. Judy was two years older than I was, she treated everybody like they were beneath her, she was respected even by her parents, and everyone wanted to please her. It became worse when she was going to get married to Lucas, there was hope for her to be Luna of the Pack. With someone as pretty as Judy, and the other gorgeous she-wolves in the pack, a lot prettier than me. Why will Lucas choose to accept the mating bond between us? He wouldn’t want someone as frumpy and unattractive as me. Well, I get to do whatever Judy asks me to. No complaints, no arguments. I went back into the kitchen to get tea for Hera before she started screaming my name. I stirred the teacup, placed them in a tray with some fruit salad. I took the stairs, heading towards her bedroom to serve her. “…so what, William?” “I did that so what?” I heard Hera’s voice and halted by the door. “That’s why I want you to act calmly, you made her sleep in the attic.” “You never complained about it? Or have you forgotten what you did? She was a mistake, a mistake that you made with a woman you brought here. A servant, a poor rat birthed her, she stinks from her hair down to her toes!” “I knew that’s why I never went there even after the accident that happened, I was supposed to be there because she was still my daughter. I had to take responsibility for what I did but I couldn’t go because of you, knowing you were the one who caused the accident. Knowing you did that to her and her mother, I couldn’t bring myself to face them!” “I couldn’t let her off after I found out she was the one you cheated on me with, and now you brought the daughter to me…” My hand trembled against the tray, I gasped, my sight getting blurry. I hurried back to the kitchen, dropped the tray on the cabinet, my hand over my mouth, muffled the sound as I cried. I hid at the back of the kitchen door, sliding down to my knees. I shook my head. ‘It can’t be.’ ‘This can’t be true.’ I pushed my hair backwards, and tears rolled down my cheeks. “Avery!” I heard her loud voice, and the bell she rang. She was at the top of the stairs. “I want my tea served now!” She ordered. I wiped the tear off my face, I stood up from the ground, grabbed the tray, and walked out of the kitchen, my breath shaking with every step I took. “Be quick.” “The Alpha and Judy’s mate will be here soon. Is her dress ready? You can’t afford to miss anything, or else I would send you out of my house.” It was a threat she meant. She never wanted me here anyway. “Your tea is here, Hera.” “Take it to my bedroom,” I walked past her on the stairs to her bedroom, opened the door, and placed it on her bed. I caught my reflection in the mirror, red puffy eyes, red nose, pale cheeks. This feeling of self-loathing came right back, glaring at me through the mirror. Hera caused the accident, the reason I couldn’t shift was her, I blamed my mom for it. The tears threatened to drop again, I batted my lashes furiously and sniffed. “Will you get to work?!” She snapped. “I hate you breathing next to me, don’t get close to me.” She warned. I clenched my fist and came out of the room, walked back into the kitchen, I was done with Judy’s dress, she had been in her room the whole morning ordering me around the house. “When I become Luna, I will banish you from this pack, because I can’t stand you ruining this family.” Judy hissed when I dropped her dress with her. I kept my face neutral. “But you’re settling to be his chosen mate, fate brought me and Lucas together.” She got up from the bed. “Say that again you bastard!” She hit me across the face before I could speak. The night before we went out for the mating ceremony, she wanted me to act like I had no idea who she was, and I was in no way related to her. “Get out you pig!” “Out!” She screamed and pushed me. “At least I will be the one with Lucas and not you, do you think you can find anyone better? You will only end up like your miserable mother.” I stopped in my tracks at her words. “That’s enough.” I heard a voice at the door. It was my so-called father, Williams. “Would you stop exchanging words with Judy, give her some respect and could you please return to the kitchen get things cleaned and dinner started,” “The Alpha is on their way here, get dressed Judy, this is a huge opportunity for our family.”Avery. He stared at me for a second too long as if I had said something quite absurd, but I meant what I said to him. “Go ahead and use me, just the way you want it. Avey.” His words made me calm. As long as the ceremony was going to be held, there was nothing for me to worry about. “You are going to meet with someone tomorrow, and you’re going to have a discussion with them, it’s all part of the preparation for the ceremony so just be calm when you face them.” His finger grazed my cheek and I nodded at him. “Come downstairs, I’ll make you dinner, you haven’t eaten the whole day, you should lose more weight before the ceremonies.” “Your sister complains of my weight.” “I never complained that I want you thinner did I? Who cares what she had to say about your body?”“I do.” “You shouldn’t let her get to you, you aren’t living with her.” “Meet me downstairs and let’s eat.” His fingers went off my face, and he left the room. I stood up slowly after he was done. I changed from th
Avery. The second I opened my eyes, I noticed that there was a figure leaning against the wall close to the entrance of the room. I must have fallen asleep with my thoughts. I rubbed my eyes and tried to get a closer picture, and he was still leaning on the wall without moving an inch. I lifted myself a bit from the bed, and that was when he started to walk closer to me, he stood just right at the bed. “He said you acted weird, and I thought you were going to run away.”“What’s the point, when you are going to find me?” “Won’t that be a stupid decision to just run away?” His eyes narrowed at me. “You should know my sister…” I had to cut him off. “I don’t want to know about her, I know she doesn’t like me and doesn’t want me, and that’s enough.” I held the pillow up to my chest and didn’t want to look at him. “Penelope is my only family.” I tried not to listen but his voice was moreover calm. “She was there for me after our parents passed, that’s why I do respect her, and I
Avery. “…oh there she is, Hector.” Lady Penelope was up on her feet, and she bowed respectfully at the Alpha and I was invisible to them. I took a step back, glanced at her for a second. “Alpha.” She courtesy, the words that came out of her mouth were quite fluent. Penelope was so against me, and I wasn’t going to stand here and watch all of it, whatever that she was planning to do. “This is Seraphim Becker.” “She’s the daughter of Alpha Becker.” Penelope was introduced with a smile on her face, as if everything was playing just the way she wanted. My hand went back to the door, because I was going to leave, I wasn’t going to stand, and wait for another humiliation that was going to happen. “She is invited to the mating ceremony.” I heard the voice of the Alpha when I held the door and was going to leave. I pretended not to care, that their words didn't matter to me, and reached to get out, hoping that he was going to stop me, or perhaps hold me back from leaving. But he did
Avery. Penelope was the eldest, and probably around her mid forties, her husband, Mr, Roar didn’t say much, he kept quiet the whole time, carefully picking his meals, and Lucas had the most amusing grin ever. Her hand had gone off my dress, almost knocking my knees against the table when I tried to sit down.“I thought you were done playing with her Hector.” “I am being serious.” “Is that why you hid her?” Lucas chipped in, it was the first time he had spoken since we came to the table. “I thought you were too mature for James. Uncle Hector, this doesn’t just feel right. Why don’t you take her back to where she belongs? That way, you can keep holding your reputation.” My gaze went around them in silence, the rejection was obvious, they didn’t want me, not even Mr. Roar. His subtle silence was a plain rejection, he didn’t say much but I knew that he was with them. He sided with his wife. Behind them was Judy, who was leaning over the wall watching, I saw her smirk, her fingernai
Avery. “I was simply correcting her for what she’s done. I think she was brought in and she made a mistake.” I kept quiet, my hands folded in front of me. “Go on, set the table for the Alpha, and where is she? The one you were supposed to come with.” She snapped her fingers at the servants around. “What are you standing here for, leave.” Her voice was directed at me. “Are you ignorant or are you trying to be one?”“What’s that supposed to mean, Hector?” She asked. “Don’t move.” He ordered me. “She made a mistake!” She snapped. “Pen, you were the one who made a mistake…” The sound of his voice hardened. “Lift your head.” I hesitated. “I said lift your head!” He was angry, and there was no doubt about that, my head went up slowly. “Have a look at her Penelope.”The lady turned to me, a scornful look on her face as she stared at me. “I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong here, Hector.” He exhaled as if trying to suppress the anger he felt. “She’s the woman I am with.” She c
Avery. I was given another dress in the morning, it was decent enough, and I just needed to see his family as he said. He hadn’t slept in, he left the room right after he got dressed last night, and I had no idea where he went. I stared at myself in front of the mirror and sighed. I expected the knock when it came, hoping it wouldn’t be Judy. I didn’t want to face her right now. “The Alpha wants you out now.” The voice said outside the door and I nodded, though she couldn’t see or hear me. I heard her footsteps fading out. She was gone, and I didn’t want to waste more time. I glanced at my face in the mirror one more time and stepped out of the room. “Why are you coming from upstairs?”“When you should be in the kitchen!” The voice of the woman snapped, she was standing behind me. “Don’t you know the Alpha is around, and breakfast needs to be served?” I spun around slowly with my head lowered. “Are you dumb?”“Will you speak when I’m talking to you!” I trembled slightly und
I finished cleaning in the kitchen, and everything was ready for the Alpha, and Lucas to be here. I didn’t know if there would be anyone else coming, but I prepared a lot more. “You should leave, you’re not part of the family, I don’t want you here when the Alpha comes,” Judy grumbled under her br
Alpha Vald Hector. I was in the woods when my wolf smelled her. I had gone to secure the border after an attempt by my rogues to get into the pack. Tonight was the mating ceremony ritual which I organized every year, yet I was the mateless one. Don’t get me wrong, I have been searching for my ma
It was the night of the mating ceremony, the night that every she-wolves is happy about, the night they get chosen by their mates. It was supposed to be a happy night, but not for me. I watched my fated mate, kissing another woman in front of me, his hands on her waist, his lips attached to he

They froze immediately, I saw the terror flash across their faces as they backed down away from me in a second. “Alpha.” I started to whimper, I couldn’t move my arms or my legs, I lay on the ground, helpless. “How dare you touch her?” “She was…”“We had no idea she was close to you, Al
