MasukAlpha Vald Hector.
I was in the woods when my wolf smelled her. I had gone to secure the border after an attempt by my rogues to get into the pack. Tonight was the mating ceremony ritual which I organized every year, yet I was the mateless one. Don’t get me wrong, I have been searching for my mate for twelve years. It was around that time I became Alpha on the pack, and at thirty years old, I haven’t found my mate. I had given up on ever finding her, and lost hope of ever getting mated to anyone but I had women who were a form of release for me. I have never been with a woman twice, enjoyed their company for an hour, and sent them out of my hotel room. I never took any of them to my house or fuck them on my bed. All because of a promise I made, that I wouldn’t be tied down to anyone except my mate. But years passed, I was eagerly at every mating ritual, but she was never there, never in the Pack, never in the Pack close to us either. I stopped going for the mating rituals because it was for the youngins around 18-24. And tonight, my nephew Lucas was going to find his mate, and then he will be fully ready as my heir to become an Alpha. We all agreed to it, since I remained unmarried, and without a mate, the brother’s son could as well be my heir and carry on the family legacy. But, her scent came. It stirred up my wolf immediately like a hound dog, we raced into the wood, tracing the scent. “Alpha!” It slowed my pace, when I saw her running, tears streaming down her face, sobbing bitterly, and I darted towards another path. Something fell off her clothes, but she hadn’t noticed, and kept running. I picked up the work she dropped. Her scent was intoxicating, even from her journal. It was driving me and my wolf insane, her name was on the bottom of it, and a small introduction. ‘Avery. Williams.’ ‘My life sucks at twenty-two.’ I followed the direction she took, she had stripped, and was inside the river. It didn’t seem like she was taking a bath, it was quite obvious she was trying to calm her wolf. Her cry made my heart wrench. I leaned over the tree, till she calmed down before I approached her. Her head came out of the water, her curly hair was wet, her eyes were unique, and it looked just like earth. The moon shone on her, not once, have I thought that I would find her here. ‘Mate’ My wolf growled in my head, his voice was loud, and there’s no way I could ignore it. ‘The scent came from her.’ I took a step closer, and that was when she saw me. If she were in my pack, how come I never found her? Where has she been hiding? And she has no idea who I was, I don’t think she felt the bond either. That I was her mate. I wanted to bind her and take her away with me, but on second thought I didn’t want to force her. After I kissed her tears off, I backed away from her, she didn’t hesitate, she ran. I watched her running, and smiled, knowing I could get her in seconds. She didn’t shift, there might be a reason why she didn’t. I was about to leave when I saw her small journal. “Alpha.” “You suddenly ran off.” My Beta came panting. “We found one of the rogues.” “Kill him,” I ordered and picked up the journal. “What’s that, Alpha?” “Is it from one of the spies?” He inquired, and I shook my head slowly. “Alpha, you should head back to the pack now and end the mating ceremony, they are all waiting for you, and I heard Lucas has found his mate.” I tilted my head to the side and stared at the Beta. “Is that so?” “Yes, Alpha.” We went back to the Pack hall, and I tucked the journal away in my pocket. I ended the mating ritual with a closing speech. Lucas was grinning over with his mate attached to his arms, her head over his chest. “…and to everyone who couldn’t find their mate tonight, don’t lose hope yet. Your mate might be somewhere within, waiting…” my voice trailed off. “The mating ceremony this year has come to an end.” “Uncle.” Lucas stopped when I was about to leave. “We’ll talk tomorrow, Lucas. You should take your mate home,” “I wanted to introduce her to you, Uncle.” He smiled and wrapped his arms around her shoulders. My eyes went to her, there was nothing to look at in her body, and my gaze didn’t last a second. “Judy Williams.” “Williams?” I asked, Why does it sound familiar? “Yes, Alpha. I’m Gamma Williams' daughter.” She said with so much pride in it. I nodded and adjusted my wristwatch. “I will see you at home Lucas.” He smiled. “Yes, Uncle.” I went out to get a drink. It was past midnight, but her face, and her scent lingered in my head. “Alpha, the ladies are waiting for you in your hotel room, you already asked for them earlier, and I made sure to follow your orders. I left them in the room.” “That was before I left.” “Yes, Alpha, the order came in the evening.” The bartender lowered his head at me and slowly refilled my glass of whiskey. I took a gulp, took the bottle, and walked down to the hotel room. I entered, and two ladies were on the bed with the lingerie on. “Alpha.” They came down from the bed, I placed the bottle of whiskey on the bedside table, and chugged down the one in the glass. They took my black sleeve off my body, and I let them touch me, their hands around my body. But it meant their touch meant nothing to me, I didn't feel anything either when they touched me. One of the ladies' hands touched my pocket. “Alpha what’s this?” She asked, I hit her hand off, and pulled out the journal from my pocket. I sat on the bed with the journal, and the ladies behind me. I wanted to flip the first page, I got up, took out a smoke, and went to the balcony alone. ‘Tim.’ I mind-linked my Beta, and his voice came back in response. ‘Alpha.’ I puffed out the smoke from the pipe and wheezed into the night. ‘You’ve to find someone.’ ‘Who, Alpha.’ ‘My mate.’Avery. He stared at me for a second too long as if I had said something quite absurd, but I meant what I said to him. “Go ahead and use me, just the way you want it. Avey.” His words made me calm. As long as the ceremony was going to be held, there was nothing for me to worry about. “You are going to meet with someone tomorrow, and you’re going to have a discussion with them, it’s all part of the preparation for the ceremony so just be calm when you face them.” His finger grazed my cheek and I nodded at him. “Come downstairs, I’ll make you dinner, you haven’t eaten the whole day, you should lose more weight before the ceremonies.” “Your sister complains of my weight.” “I never complained that I want you thinner did I? Who cares what she had to say about your body?”“I do.” “You shouldn’t let her get to you, you aren’t living with her.” “Meet me downstairs and let’s eat.” His fingers went off my face, and he left the room. I stood up slowly after he was done. I changed from th
Avery. The second I opened my eyes, I noticed that there was a figure leaning against the wall close to the entrance of the room. I must have fallen asleep with my thoughts. I rubbed my eyes and tried to get a closer picture, and he was still leaning on the wall without moving an inch. I lifted myself a bit from the bed, and that was when he started to walk closer to me, he stood just right at the bed. “He said you acted weird, and I thought you were going to run away.”“What’s the point, when you are going to find me?” “Won’t that be a stupid decision to just run away?” His eyes narrowed at me. “You should know my sister…” I had to cut him off. “I don’t want to know about her, I know she doesn’t like me and doesn’t want me, and that’s enough.” I held the pillow up to my chest and didn’t want to look at him. “Penelope is my only family.” I tried not to listen but his voice was moreover calm. “She was there for me after our parents passed, that’s why I do respect her, and I
Avery. “…oh there she is, Hector.” Lady Penelope was up on her feet, and she bowed respectfully at the Alpha and I was invisible to them. I took a step back, glanced at her for a second. “Alpha.” She courtesy, the words that came out of her mouth were quite fluent. Penelope was so against me, and I wasn’t going to stand here and watch all of it, whatever that she was planning to do. “This is Seraphim Becker.” “She’s the daughter of Alpha Becker.” Penelope was introduced with a smile on her face, as if everything was playing just the way she wanted. My hand went back to the door, because I was going to leave, I wasn’t going to stand, and wait for another humiliation that was going to happen. “She is invited to the mating ceremony.” I heard the voice of the Alpha when I held the door and was going to leave. I pretended not to care, that their words didn't matter to me, and reached to get out, hoping that he was going to stop me, or perhaps hold me back from leaving. But he did
Avery. Penelope was the eldest, and probably around her mid forties, her husband, Mr, Roar didn’t say much, he kept quiet the whole time, carefully picking his meals, and Lucas had the most amusing grin ever. Her hand had gone off my dress, almost knocking my knees against the table when I tried to sit down.“I thought you were done playing with her Hector.” “I am being serious.” “Is that why you hid her?” Lucas chipped in, it was the first time he had spoken since we came to the table. “I thought you were too mature for James. Uncle Hector, this doesn’t just feel right. Why don’t you take her back to where she belongs? That way, you can keep holding your reputation.” My gaze went around them in silence, the rejection was obvious, they didn’t want me, not even Mr. Roar. His subtle silence was a plain rejection, he didn’t say much but I knew that he was with them. He sided with his wife. Behind them was Judy, who was leaning over the wall watching, I saw her smirk, her fingernai
Avery. “I was simply correcting her for what she’s done. I think she was brought in and she made a mistake.” I kept quiet, my hands folded in front of me. “Go on, set the table for the Alpha, and where is she? The one you were supposed to come with.” She snapped her fingers at the servants around. “What are you standing here for, leave.” Her voice was directed at me. “Are you ignorant or are you trying to be one?”“What’s that supposed to mean, Hector?” She asked. “Don’t move.” He ordered me. “She made a mistake!” She snapped. “Pen, you were the one who made a mistake…” The sound of his voice hardened. “Lift your head.” I hesitated. “I said lift your head!” He was angry, and there was no doubt about that, my head went up slowly. “Have a look at her Penelope.”The lady turned to me, a scornful look on her face as she stared at me. “I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong here, Hector.” He exhaled as if trying to suppress the anger he felt. “She’s the woman I am with.” She c
Avery. I was given another dress in the morning, it was decent enough, and I just needed to see his family as he said. He hadn’t slept in, he left the room right after he got dressed last night, and I had no idea where he went. I stared at myself in front of the mirror and sighed. I expected the knock when it came, hoping it wouldn’t be Judy. I didn’t want to face her right now. “The Alpha wants you out now.” The voice said outside the door and I nodded, though she couldn’t see or hear me. I heard her footsteps fading out. She was gone, and I didn’t want to waste more time. I glanced at my face in the mirror one more time and stepped out of the room. “Why are you coming from upstairs?”“When you should be in the kitchen!” The voice of the woman snapped, she was standing behind me. “Don’t you know the Alpha is around, and breakfast needs to be served?” I spun around slowly with my head lowered. “Are you dumb?”“Will you speak when I’m talking to you!” I trembled slightly und
Avery. I didn’t know what I should feel about the news, excited, anxious, worried, scared but above all, he was going to make me Luna. He said he was going to make me Luna!I kept pacing in the room, I didn’t know what to do. If he was truly going to make me his Luna, the Alpha was going to keep
Avery. I couldn’t get out of bed the whole morning, I felt weak and I remained lying down. I ignored the knock on the door, it came several times and eventually stopped. Nobody came to the door again even though I was awake but I couldn’t move from the bed. I remained there.“No. Alpha.” “She’s
Alpha Hector Vald. “Alpha. I wasn’t expecting you at the Pack house this late, I thought you wouldn’t be here till tomorrow morning, how come you are here?” The Beta asked, but I needed a moment away from the house, a moment away from her. Why didn’t I feel what I was supposed to feel? I expected
Avery. I sat down in the chair I had just pulled out, the wooden legs scraped softly against the floor, he was seated across from me, and his gaze swept over me for just a minute. He still didn’t say a word but his eyes lingered for a bit too long, like he was trying to figure something out. He d
