CHAPTER 2

last update Fecha de publicación: 2026-08-20 13:07:48

I slowly opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling, my mind completely blank. For a few long seconds, I couldn’t understand where I was. My last memory was of lying on the cold bed beside Mia, holding her lifeless body while my own life slipped away. I was supposed to be dead.

My heart began to race as I turned my head to the side.

The moment I saw Rowan lying beside me, fast asleep, my entire body froze. This had to be a dream. I quickly lifted my right hand and stared at it, my eyes searching for the scar I had gotten on my eighteenth birthday. But it wasn’t there.

I kept staring, unable to believe what I was seeing.

The scar was gone. The mark that had stayed with me for eight years had vanished.

A cold shiver ran through my body as the truth slowly sank in. I wasn’t dreaming. Somehow… I had gone back in time. Eight years into the past.

My hands trembled as I pulled the blanket away. The moment I realized both Rowan and I were only half dressed, memories of the previous night came rushing back all at once.

Last night we slept together.

I instinctively placed a hand over my stomach.

If this truly was the morning after that one night, then Mia would already be forming inside me. She was here. My baby was alive again.

Tears instantly filled my eyes. I had been given another chance to save my daughter. Another chance to change everything.

But before I could gather my thoughts, Rowan suddenly moved beside me. His eyes slowly opened, and the second he noticed me lying next to him, his face twisted with disgust.

“What the fuck are you doing in my bed, you fat, worthless—”

I rolled my eyes before he could finish.

“Wolfless, useless piece of trash,” I completed flatly. Those words had become so familiar that I could repeat them without thinking. In my previous life, he had called me those names almost every single day. I knew every insult by heart.

Without waiting for his reaction, I grabbed my clothes from the floor and hurriedly got dressed. The sooner I got away from him, the better.

I had just reached the bedroom door when I suddenly stopped. Holding the doorknob, I looked back over my shoulder with a small, mocking smile.

“You forgot one part,” I said calmly. “‘I hate you.’ It usually comes right after ‘piece of trash.’ Try not to forget it next time.”

For the first time since I had known Rowan Logan, he looked completely speechless.

“What…?” he asked, staring at me in confusion.

I didn’t answer.

Instead, I opened the door, stepped outside, slammed it shut behind me, and walked away without looking back.

I left the pack house, but it did nothing to calm the storm inside me. As I walked, everything that had happened the night before replayed in my mind as clearly as if it had happened only minutes ago.

My parents had asked me to personally deliver an invitation to Alpha Levi for a birthday celebration. Levi was Rowan's older brother and the current Alpha of the pack. He had inherited the position at just seventeen after their father was killed in battle, while Rowan and I were only ten years old. Since my father had served as the former Alpha's Beta, our families had always been close.

The party was supposed to celebrate my birthday as well. But everyone knew the celebration wasn’t really about me. There was a painful reason for that, a story I had buried deep inside my heart. Right now, I don't have the strength to think about it.

After giving Levi the invitation, I turned to leave. That was when I saw Rowan stumbling through the hallway. He was so drunk that he could barely stand. I rushed over and caught him before he fell to the floor. Somehow, I managed to support his weight and help him all the way to his bedroom.

I thought I would leave after making sure he was safe. But the moment I turned around, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me onto the bed.

That night changed my life forever.

The truth was… I hadn’t resisted him. I had wanted him. I loved him so desperately that I mistook his desire for love.

I was deeply in love with Rowan Logan. No matter how cruel he was to me, no matter how many times he mocked my weight or looked at me with disgust, I still loved him with everything I had. I foolishly believed that if I loved him enough, one day he might love me back.

So last night I gave him my heart and my virginity.

I forced myself to stop thinking about the past before the memories swallowed me whole. By the time I reached my family’s house, my heart was pounding again.

Taking a slow, steady breath, I pushed open the front door and stepped inside.

The moment I entered the living room, my feet stopped moving.

They were all there.

Sitting quietly as if they had been waiting for me.

The three people who had made my previous life a living nightmare.

Damon reached into his vest and pulled out a small piece of parchment that had been folded tightly. His fingers shook a little as he held it out to Alpha Levi. Levi took the note from him without saying a word.He slowly opened it. I kept my eyes on my brother, watching his face carefully. At first, he looked calm, just like he always did. But as his eyes moved across the words, his expression slowly changed. The warmth disappeared from his face. His eyebrows slowly pulled together, and a deep, frightening frown appeared on his face.My mother and I both pushed our chairs back at the same time. We stood up so quickly that our chairs scraped against the floor. Neither of us said a word, but we both knew something was terribly wrong."Levi, what is it?" Mom asked. "What does the note say?"Levi did not answer right away. His whole body became stiff, and his jaw tightened so hard that I could hear his teeth grinding together. Slowly, his fingers closed around the parchment. He squeezed i

A sharp, blinding pain suddenly shot through my temples. It was so strong that my vision became blurry, and the hallway in front of me seemed to fade away. For a few seconds, everything around me disappeared, and all I could see was a strange flash of red. Then I saw Rosaline. She reached into her skirt and pulled out a small silver knife. Before I could do anything, she rushed toward me and drove the knife deep into my stomach. Pain exploded through my body as blood quickly soaked my clothes. But that wasn’t the worst part. I watched in horror as she grabbed my bloody hand and forced my fingers around the knife handle, making it look as if I had held it myself. Then she pulled away and ran down the hallway, screaming that I had tried to kill myself. Her voice echoed in my mind as I watched the scene play out like a terrible memory. I wanted to move. I wanted to stop her, but my body would not listen to me. Then, just as suddenly as it had appeared, the vision disappeared.I blinked s

Rosaline leaned in until her lips were close to my ear, then she whispered so quietly that only I could hear her.“In our last life, you walked through that front door, dropped to your knees, and cried like a lost dog while begging Mom and Dad to forgive you.” A slow, cruel smile spread across her face. “But look at you now. You’re standing there without even shaking.”She let out a soft, mocking laugh before her smile grew even wider.“That only means one thing.” Her eyes sparkled with pure malice. “Breaking you this time is going to be twice as satisfying.”My breath caught in my throat as a wave of shock rushed through me.Rosaline had been reborn too.She remembered everything from our past life. I had believed I was the only one who knew what was coming. I thought I had the advantage.I was wrong.
