Ezra's P.O.V

When she was finally ready to sleep and call it a night, I watched as Zoya slipped under the covers, her eyes heavy with exhaustion, and I went to lie next to her. I pulled the blanket up to her chin, making sure she's warm and comfortable.

“I need to finish up on some work in my study.” I spoke softly, my concern evident in my voice. "Are you sure you'll be okay?"

She nodded, a small smile on her lips. "I'll be fine, Ezra. Go on, don’t let me stop you. Goodnight."

I leaned down and pressed a tender kiss on her forehead. "Good night, my love," I murmured. "Just rest now. I'll be right in the next room if you need anything."

I stayed in the room just long enough to watch her fall asleep. The soft moonlight filtering through the window cast a gentle glow over her features, accentuating her beauty in the most serene way.

Her breaths gradually slowed, and I could feel her body relaxing against mine, indicating that sleep was finally taking over.

Silas’s P.O.VPart of me wanted to lash out, to fight back and prove my strength, but another part of me felt like a caged animal, trapped and defenseless."I'm not here to ambush you, Silas," Ezra continued, his voice unwavering. "I don't want to hurt you or your pack. But I need the truth, and I need to know that we can find a way to coexist without bloodshed."His words were like a weight on my shoulders, and I felt the pressure of the situation closing in on me. I hadn't expected this confrontation, and I wasn't prepared to face Ezra's calm resolve."I don't need your chances," I spat back, trying to regain some semblance of control. "I want back what was mine, Ezra. I want to claim back what's rightfully mine, by any means possible."Ezra's eyes narrowed, but he remained composed. "Is that really what you want, Silas? More violence? More death?"The same waitress returned, carrying a tray of the food we ordered. I didn't want her to be in my line of fire, so I shut up and waited

Silas’s P.O.VThe next day, I made my way to the restaurant as Anika had instructed. According to her, I had an appointment with the Alpha of the small pack who wanted to join our fight against Ezra.It was a boon sent by the Moon Goddess. If our people weren’t as skilled as my old pack, then we could at least outnumber them and lead our packs to victory. The restaurant was a quaint, cozy place tucked away on a quiet street in town. As I entered, the rich aroma of deliciously cooked meals greeted me, instantly stimulating my appetite.Soft, warm lights hung from the ceiling, casting a gentle glow over the rustic wooden tables and plush leather booths. The walls were adorned with old photographs of the town's history, giving the place a sense of nostalgia and charm. The ambiance was inviting, with a mix of chatter and laughter filling the air, creating a pleasant background noise that added to the comfort of the surroundings.I was so eager to secure more allies and strengthen our posi

Ezra's P.O.VAs I drove us back home, I wondered if Zoya could feel my occasional concerned glances at her through the side view mirror. If she did, she couldn't bring herself to meet my eyes.I was worried sick when I sensed her panic through our bond earlier, and found that she wasn't at home. But once Cam had told me via their telepathic bond that Zoya was with her, I had been immensely relieved.Zoya had told me what had caused it... it’s just that…I didn't entirely believe her when she said that it had been nothing, just a slip of a glass that was about to hit the floor, because it had seemed so real, so intense, despite only being short-lived.But since Zoya told me there was nothing to worry about, I forced myself to think that it was truly nothing. "Ezra, I'm sorry," she finally spoke up, most likely not being able to take the pressure of the thick silence. “That I worried you today.”There was nobody following us, so I stopped the car, turning to face her, and gently lifted

Zoya’s P.O.V"Cam, you need to see this," I called out to her urgently. My heart raced, and I felt a sense of unease settling in once again.Cam hurried over, her expression shifting from curiosity to concern as she took in the scene."What is that?" he asks, his brow furrowing."I don't know," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady despite the unease gnawing at me. "But it's—"As I was about to continue my thoughts, Cam's urgent voice broke through, interrupting me mid-sentence. "Zoya, we need to leave. Now," she said. "Ezra just realized we're not at the pack house, and he's coming to find us. He contacted me just now through our mental link."I nodded, not wanting to stay a moment longer in this eerie atmosphere.Cam's words jolted me into action, and without a second thought, we rushed out of the house, leaving the disturbing scene behind. My heart skipped a beat, and a rush of concern flooded over me. "What did you tell Ezra, Cam?" I asked, feeling a pang of guilt.Cam quickly

Zoya’s P.O.VMy heart was racing, and my hands trembled as I dropped the picture frame, the glass shattering into pieces on the floor.Cam rushed to my side, concern etched all over her face as she looked at me from head to toe, moving me away from the glass shards. “Zoya? What happened?”I couldn't find the words to explain the fear that had gripped me, so I shook my head, trying to process what I saw in the mirror."C-Cam, did you see that?" I stammered, my voice shaky as I tried to keep my composure.Cam looked over, concern etched on his face. "See what, Zoya?"I glanced back at the mirror, but the shadow had disappeared. "I-I thought I saw something, like a black shadow behind me," I explained, my heart still pounding in my ears. "I-I must have hallucinated or something. Maybe it was just a trick of the light. But I swear… I swear…"Even as I tried to convince myself that it was all in my mind, I couldn't shake off the feeling that someone or something was watching me.Cam remain
