Reya’s POV

A low growl rumbled from Lycan Xander’s chest, startling me and everyone present. The hair on the back of my neck stood at ends as his power slammed into me. He was furious and I knew it in his eyes.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” he said as he took a step forward and shoved me behind him. “Do you want to kill her?”

I tried to touch his arm and tell him that I wasn’t that fragile to be killed by something as small as hot liquid but before I could say anything, Myra fell on her knees. her lips trembled and fear was written all over her face.

If I wasn’t in the middle of the entire thing, I’d have laughed out loud at the sight of her on her knees. Oh, how far the mighty has fallen, or how do they even say it again?

While I had been a slave and even after Lycan Tristan had made me his Luna, Myra had been the bane of my existence. She made sure she ceased every minute she could to make me feel how useless and worthless I was.

And now she was begging?

Tears poured down her cheek. “I swear, I didn’t see – it was a mistake.”

Lycan Xander was not having it. He snarled and I could feel that his wolf was at the surface. Why was he taking it this far?

“What are you still doing, Omega?” Lycan Tristan barked, suddenly appearing beside me. He took the arm which the hot water had spilled on and held it up to her face. “You call this a mistake?” he barked.

“Do you realize this could leave a scar?”

I scoffed. I wanted to yank my arm away and remind him of how many scars he gave me when I was here, but that was going to be wrong and disrespectful to his title as Alpha. Not that I gave a fuck, but I needed to compose myself for Lycan Xander and my kids.

Chloe approached us as well, concern etched all over her face. To my surprise, she stopped short of Myra, yanked her from the ground and gave her a thundering slap which echoed throughout the hall. I even felt it in my bones.

“How could you embarrass our pack house this way in the presence of other Alphas?” Chloe chided.

My mouth hung open at the drama that was unfolding in front of me that I didn’t realize my arm was still in Lycan Tristan’s grip or that my injuries were healing quickly until Chloe’s gaze darted towards it and she frowned.

I snatched my hand from the grip of Lycan Tristan and carried firmly to my side. “I’m done,” I said. “I’m sure she just made a mistake and she has learnt her lesson. Besides, the injury is not that serious.”

Lycan Xander took my arm, eyeing it warily. “You’re too good for yourself,” he muttered.

“She deserves to be punished for what she did,” Chloe continued, turning her attention to Lycan Xander. “He ruined her dress and her arm. Reya has no wolf and I am sure that will leave a scar if it doesn’t heal…”

The rest of the words died in her throat as I pinned her with a glare. Why was she acting as if she knew me too well? Goddess, was she just about to blow my cover?

Her eyes darted to my arm which was still in Lycan Xander’s hold and she took a step forward, her eyes widening. “H-how – Your arm, it’s completely healed? How is that even possible? You have no –”

I cut her off with a snarl. “As you can see, I am fine and she doesn’t need to be punished.”

“You still need a healer,” Lycan Xander. “Can you get her one?”

“Of course,” Chloe answered almost immediately. “Here, please come with me.”

I sighed, rolling my eyes at her, because I knew she was up to something and I didn’t want to be part of it. Smiling at Lycan Xander, I followed her out of the hall and down a series of hallways till we were inside of a restroom, instead of the infirmary or clinic like I was supposed to be.

Once the door shut behind us, she turned around, pinning me with a glare which would have had me shitting in my boots five years ago. I almost laughed at how desperate and cute she looked.

It felt like a cocktail for my stomach.

“Want that expression on your face to scare me?” I politely asked, back-turning to look at myself in the mirror. Since we were here, I could make good use of the time.

Her face fell, but the glare was back in place a minute later.

Goddess, she was giving me a headache. I couldn’t believe I had once been intimidated by her before. If I wanted, I could snap her in two right here and now and I wasn’t even going to break a sweat.

What was it about her that I feared? Her aura wasn’t even that strong.

“Why are you here? What are you doing in this pack after leaving us to clean up after your mess five years ago? Did you really think you could return to this pack after so long and take back all I’ve worked so hard to build?”

I scoffed. “All you worked hard to build?” I raised a brow. “You can keep your hard work, Chloe. I have no intention of taking something as stupid as that away from you. And quit acting like a baby, you’re bigger than that.”

Her jaw dropped to her feet and she blinked like a doll. “What – what did you just say to me?”

“I’m very sure you heard me loud and clear, Chloe. It is very immature of you to drag me in here with promises of helping me when all you want to do is whine about something as stupid and irrelevant as a man.”

I rolled my eyes and patted my face, digging in my bag for a lip gloss. Once I was done, I glanced down at the spot where the hot water would have chaffed away my skin to see that I was now fully healed.

Other than the fact that the skin was still red, no one could guess that I just had third degree burns.

Chloe yanked my shoulder roughly, turning me to face her and at the same time raising her hand to hit me. I grabbed her wrist midair, squeezing it tight until I heard the snap of bones underneath skin.

A scream tore from her throat but I didn’t let go, instead I squeezed harder.

“Let go of me, you bitch!” she cursed, trying to yank her hand away from my grip, but that was a bad idea. I felt the pain as it shot through her hand and into her shoulder, immobilizing her for a few second.

Sweat rolled down her face.

I smirked. “Open your eyes and look at me, Chloe,” I said coolly. “Do I look like a person you can easily bully into submission?” I fisted her blonde hair in my hands, forcing her eyes open. “Take a good look at me and caution yourself the next time you make the mistake of thinking I am weak and spineless.”

I shoved her away, growling at her at the same time. A yelp sounded from her throat as her back collided with the wall.

“The next time you try something as stupid as raising your hands on me or anyone I care about; I won’t hesitate to tear you half and feed your body to the hyenas.”

I didn’t wait for her response before slipping out of the restroom and joining Lycan Xander back at the dining table.

My jaw locked; fists clenched at my sides as I stared at the screen replaying the same ten seconds. Again. And again.Reya.The footage had been recovered from a rogue outpost—now a graveyard. Cameras cracked and bloodstained, but still functional enough to capture what I should never have seen.Her.A crimson blur ripped through the screen like divine fury. Eyes glowing molten gold. Reya’s POV"I didn’t choose this war," I whispered as the weight of two kingdoms threatened to collapse on my shoulders, "but I’ll end it on my terms."The court was packed.Cameras hovered like vultures. Fae advisors stood stoic, Lycan generals loomed silent, and the crowd of both Mooncrest and Riverdale wolves—separated by invisible lines of hatred—buzzed with tension. And there they were.Lycan Xander of Mooncrest, my protector, my declared king, standing in full ceremonial armor, a golden crown woven with runes that pulsed with ancient power. Beside him, Alpha Tristan Price—my former mate, my past, my pain—radiating raw dominance, every inch of him carved in regret and unspoken fire.My twins, Pearl and Luis, sat behind me. Pearl's golden eyes glowed like Tristan’s. Luis tapped his claws nervously—claws that were far too advanced for his age.The court knew. They all knew. And so did the magic. It thrummed through the air, ready to snap. This wasn’t just a battle for territory. It
