The Right Choice

When I woke up, Dante was no longer lying next to me, and my head was pounding. I got out of bed, grabbed some painkillers from the cabinet, and took one. Damn it… I shouldn’t have drunk that much.

I sat back on the edge of the bed, trying to gather my thoughts. I was still wearing last night’s dress.

Once the pain in my head eased a little, I stood up and went into the bathroom. The moment I looked at myself in the mirror, my heart sank—I looked like I’d just returned from a month-long boot camp. Did Dante see me like this this morning?

God, I want to die of embarrassment.

I peeled off my clothes and stepped under the shower. For a while, I just stood there, letting the water wake me up. It had been a good night—well, if you didn’t count Mr. Davis. I still don’t know what the hell he wanted from me. He really scared me.

I just hope he realized how out of line he was and that he’ll think twice next time.

I pushed the thought away and finished showering.

Where Illusions DieWhen I opened my eyes, Dante’s side of the bed was empty.Quietly, I pushed myself up, and a sharp pain ran through my body—especially between my thighs. The sensations from last night still lingered, burning vividly in my mind.I pieced everything together in my head — Dante and I… we had sex.Once I gathered myself, I carefully got out of bed, wrapping the sheet around my body, and walked into the bathroom. The hot shower eased the tension in my muscles, if only slightly. Afterward, I dressed in something simple, towel-dried my hair, and just as I was about to leave the room, Dante walked in.His face — something was off. His eyes lit up, but not with warmth. There was a fire in them, sharp and searing. My breath caught in my throat. He moved toward me slowly, with deliberate, heavy steps. In his hand was his phone. Without a word, he pressed play on a video. It was me.I was leaving Dante’s office, papers clutched in my hand — the same papers I’d taken that nigh

Love🔞Dante parked the car in front of the house. I immediately went inside because he was talking to someone on the phone in Italian. I walked into the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge, and headed to my room. The first thing I did was kick off my high heels, tossing them beside the bed, then lay down on my back. Another terrible day—I still couldn’t shake off Benjamin’s words and my father’s gaze.“What are you thinking about?” Dante’s voice made me jump up from the bed. He laughed at my reaction.“Why are you looking at me like a frightened mouse?”“Maybe you should stop appearing like a ghost everywhere.”He laughed again, stepping closer slowly.“Then I wouldn’t get to see this face of yours.”“Dante, I’m not laughing at all.”“Oh, come on, baby, don’t be so grumpy.”“Why? That suits you better.”He raised his eyebrows and smiled, then gently touched my hair and brushed it away from my face.“You’re so beautiful.”“Thank you,” I whispered, my voice barely audib

The fear that slowly takes over youWe stayed like that for minutes. I didn’t want to let go of his hand. If I could, I would’ve stayed like that for hours, or even the whole night. I held him tightly against my heart. He didn’t ask any questions; I just held on firmly. I could see in his eyes that he was worried about me, but despite that, he remained silent.Slowly, I pulled away and looked into his eyes. Then I touched his face — his skin was slightly rough. His eyes followed my every move. I cupped his face gently in my hands and kissed him softly. Then, once more, I touched his lips tenderly and kissed him again. When I looked into his eyes, I noticed a flicker of worry. He cared about me because I was acting unusually. I knew that too, but I had no answer for why I was behaving that way.“Baby will you tell me what’s going on now?” His voice was low and hoarse.I shook my head because I didn’t know the reason for my behavior either.“Evelyn, something’s not right, and you have t

When words failAs soon as the car stopped in front of the estate, my heart began pounding violently. My hands were numb, and I shut my eyes, taking a deep breath. I’d been doing that the entire ride—and I think I confused Diego, because he kept glancing at me.“Are you alright, miss?”Diego’s voice brought me back. I nodded with a faint smile, then opened the door and stepped out of the car.The moment I entered the house, I heard my father’s loud laughter echoing through the hall. I froze. My hands started trembling, and a sick feeling twisted in my stomach.“Miss, are you okay?”A girl appeared beside me, wearing a uniform—clearly one of the staff.“Yes, I’m fine,” I said quickly.“You don’t look fine. Your face is pale.”She seemed genuinely concerned.“I’m alright, really. Thank you.”I pulled myself together and walked further into the house. As soon as I entered the main room, Margaret rushed over and wrapped me in a hug.“My sweet girl, I missed you so much.”Seeing her face b

Edward and his Charlie's Angels Amelia was digging through my closet, frantically searching for a dress that would match her necklace. The three of us were sitting on the bed, eating Nana’s homemade chocolate cake.“So, what’s going on with Dante?”Noah looked at me and raised his eyebrows.“What do you mean?”“Has your relationship moved forward?”“What exactly do you mean by moved forward?”I looked at Noah, confused.“Oh my God, Eveline,” Lily rolled her eyes, clearly losing patience. “She means—have you had sex or something?”“Whoa, whoa, hold on!” Noah turned to her and quickly covered her mouth with his hand. “You know Eveline’s a little shy about this stuff. You don’t have to be so blunt.”Lily pulled his hand off.“Oh come on, why tiptoe around it?”“Can you all stop talking like I’m not even here? And Noah, to answer your question—no, nothing’s happened.Unless you count the fact that we slept in the same bed.”“Who slept with who?” Amelia walked out of the room holding a bl
