Guests had started leaving the hall as the event came to an end. We were also preparing to leave, but Hunter was nowhere to be found. "I wonder where he's gone off to," I said with irritation. Mason's nanny was already seated, holding a sleeping Mason in her arms.

"He'll have to face my anger if he's disappeared," Gabriel growled. As we stood there waiting for Hunter, someone approached us.

"Madam Evelyn, Alpha Lucian wishes to speak with you, if it's alright," the person said. Gabriel and I exchanged glances.

"Tell her she’ll be there," Gabriel answered on my behalf. The young man nodded and walked away. "What do you mean I'll be there? It's not part of our plan to meet him today," I protested.

"Whether it's today or another day, you'll eventually have to meet him. I think it's best for you to make your intentions clear from today. That way, he might reconsider whatever he's planning," Gabriel explained.

"Don't worry. I know you'll handle it well. I'll head home
