I want to win this bet more than anything.

Adrenaline floods me and Elena, my wolf tenses, her paws digging into the dirt as we wait for the start of the run. We’ll run the same path as last month, winding through the trees and along the north territory border before we head back toward main street in town. We’ll head back here to the starting line after that and some will stay for hot chocolate and some soup. I think Sloan, Delaney, and Clementine are in charge of soup this month so they’ll be here to set that up soon.

Derrick let out a howl and the rest of the pack joins in. Elena joins in and I can’t stop the excitement from taking over. My heart starts to race as the run starts and I look over at Derrick’s wolf one last time before I take off. My legs move quickly and I pull out ahead of him as we start to race through the trees.

    My birthday is tomorrow and the only thing that I want is Derrick.He only left a day ago and already my wolf and I are sad and depressed about him being gone.
