"What the fuck happened?!" James was about to burst when Killian finally left the Whites' house in a leisure movement before he made his way back to the two Alphas waiting in the corner.

"Why did your track spell dissolve?" Raymond was much calmer than James when he opened his mouth.

He was the one who stopped James from crashing into the house when the mark on his palm disappeared.

"I can't mark Evelyn in there," Killian shook his head, glancing in the house's direction, "she's very likely in the basement, but the whole basement is sealed with a magic field. Sarah would know if I tried anything."

"Good enough," James huffed, no longer interested in Killian, "I'm going in!"

"You can't!" Killian rose his cane, and James let out a nasty growl, glaring at Killian with his Alpha Aura spouting freely.

Killian's grip on his cane tightened, and his cane glowed when instantly James felt a strong pushback on his Alpha Aura.

"Killian," Raymond cut in between the two men, "you promised to save her life."

"And that's exactly what I'm doing!" Killian squeezed those words out of his clenched teeth. Apparently, it wasn't easy as it seemed for him to resist James's Alpha Aura.

"James, let him talk," Raymond took a deep breath and remained calm, ignoring Sisyphus's continuous growl.

His head had been in a throbbing pain ever since Sisyphus knew Evelyn was in danger.

"First of all, magic fields are tricky," Killian didn't linger any longer, "every magic field consists of different spells, so it's hard to know what would happen if you break it with violence--"

"Do I fucking care?!" James hissed impatiently.

"Do you care if it would hurt Evelyn?" Killian asked in a light tone, and James pursed his lips with an angry huff.

"I might be able to break in safely, but I need time," Killian continued, ignoring James's attitude, "and Sarah can't know about it or she might trigger whatever spells she used."

"So, we have to lure Sarah out of the house without her suspecting that it was to rescue Evelyn," Raymond nodded, "tricky, but doable."

"That's the second thing," Killian turned to Raymond, "I still need Ava, and I can't risk losing Sarah yet, so, Sarah White is not to be touched until I say so."

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" James snapped, reaching for Killian's collar, and this time Killian's cane lit up earlier and James pulled back his hand as if he was burnt.

"James," Raymond rose a hand to block James's further move, "Evelyn's safety is all that matters right now. Sarah's punishment can wait."

James huffed and turned away, leaving Raymond to talk to Killian.

"I appreciate it, Alpha," Killian bowed lightly at Raymond, "with your promise, I'll help."

"I won't make a move on Sarah White without your approval," Raymond said solemnly, "so how do you suggest we lure her out?"

"With Ava," Killian said without hesitation, apparently having a plan figured out already.

"She's at school," Raymond frowned, "we don't have time--"

"We don't need her here," Killian waved his hand, "if you tell Sarah that Ava's life is in danger, it would surely put a hold on whatever Sarah is planning to do, including hurting Evelyn."

"I can do that," Raymond nodded, but Killian rose a finger--

"Whatever excuse you use, you need to make it happen."

Raymond frowned, and James huffed impatiently, apparently getting itchy hands on saving Evelyn.

"What do you mean?" Raymond asked Killian, ignoring James.

"Sarah would know something is up if later she found out that whatever you told her was a lie," Killian shrugged lightly, "I can't have that. So whatever risk you want to say Ava is in, you need to really make it happen."

"I can tell Sarah that Ava is abducted," Raymond thought for a moment, speaking with obvious reluctance, "and--"

"I don't think so," Killian cut Raymond off, "Sarah wouldn't have a good reason to leave the house if that, plus, she would definitely ask her husband to mindlink Ava, and we can't risk Ava knowing about our plan."

"Then what the fuck do you suggest we do?!" James got tired of Killian's slow way of talking, snapping.

Killian didn't get into an angry argument but just turned to Raymond, staring into Raymond's eyes with a straight face.

"What do you have in mind, please do tell," Raymond asked politely, holding back his temper. He would have blown out by now, but he knew one of them had to keep a cool mind, for Evelyn's sake.

"You are not gonna like it," Killian said in a light voice, his tone stone cold, "so, how far are you willing to go to save Evelyn, Alpha?"

"Whatever it takes," Raymond answered without hesitation, and James for the first time, shot Raymond a glance with a genuine friendly look.

"Good," Killian nodded slowly before he looked directly into Raymond's eyes, "you need to get Ava in a severe car accident. Are you willing to sacrifice your moral principle, for a wolfless girl who's not even in your pack?"

Killian was curious about Raymond's taking an interest in Evelyn. He was pretty sure Ava was the hybrid, so he felt weird and suspicious when Raymond was showing such a huge preference for the "other girl", the girl that was NOT the special one among the only two possible candidates of being THE hybrid.

James turned to Raymond with shocked eyes, and Raymond frowned.

"You want me to arrange a car accident to get Ava injured?" Said slowly, Raymond frowned in hesitation, "I can't just hurt an innocent even if it's to save a life--"

"Raymond Reid!" James protested angrily, and Killian smirked.

"I thought you said whatever it takes?" Killian cocked an eyebrow.

"There are ways to do things! I--I...Give me time and I'll come up with a plan! Just give me time--" Raymond snapped angrily, but then his eyes darted to the house.

He didn't have time.

Evelyn could die any moment, and he knew every second he wasted arguing, the chance of Evelyn's survival would diminish a little.

James gripped the fence till his fingertips turned white, but he understood Raymond's hesitation. With great power, he and Raymond both believe that the power is to do good, not whatever the fuck they want.

"It's not like Ava is that innocent, is it?" Killian lured Raymond, "I'm pretty sure she tried to get Evelyn raped."

"What?!" James cut in furiously, but the two other men ignored him.

"You knew about that?!" Raymond stared at Killian in shock, "And you still want to recruit her into your coven??!"

"It's not a big problem for us," Killian shrugged lightly, "our magic is too rare for us to be picky, besides...what's the good of power if you can't use it to your benefit?"

"Not like this!" Raymond rubbed his hair in frustration, his eyes darting to Evelyn's direction again, "I...I can get Sarah to the hospital for a car accident patient, I'll just tell her we mistook that person as Ava--"

"And how do you plan to prevent Ava from talking to Sarah ever again after today?" Killian smirked, "I told you, Ava can't know."

"And why would you allow me to hurt your precious hybrid like this?" Raymond squeezed the words through his gritted teeth.

"She'll heal, right?" Killian played with his cane casually, "It's not like it's a huge sacrifice."

"That's too evil, even for me," James shook his head at Killian with despise in his eyes before he turned to Raymond, "but I'm with him. If Ava has hurt Evelyn, then she deserves it."

"But that's not the point! Have you lost your fucking mind?!" Raymond burst out, grabbing James's collar in utter anger, "Maybe it's the same, but we are NOT extending punishment, are we?! We are forcing an innocent to be a sacrifice without her consent! How are you fucking okay with that?!"

"I'll do anything for Evelyn," James pulled Raymond's hand off his collar coldly, "especially when it sounds like Ava deserves it!"

"And if we have to hurt an old lady who has nothing to do with this, would you still do it?!" Raymond pushed James on the chest.

"Then I'm glad it's Ava," James answered with a cold face.

"But..." Raymond hesitated, couldn't bring himself to make the decision, but all the eyes were on him now.

"Or is your precious conscience more important than Evelyn's life?" Killian curved his lips, smirking.

"Get your annoying smirk away from me!" Raymond gripped Killian's collar, "Why are you fucking doing this?! You KNOW Ava would join your coven with or without--"

"I admit," Killian shrugged with an indifferent look, "it's my way of making sure Ava won't choose you, if I ever need to tell her that you choose to sacrifice her. But it's up to you."

Raymond let go of Killian's collar as if he just lost all his strength with utter shock in his eyes.

"I'll do it," James stepped up, "I'll go--"

He couldn't. It was Raymond's city, and it would take much longer if James were to try to make such an arrangement.

"No," Raymond closed his eyes with a heavy exhale, "I'm guessing, it has to be me?"

Killian gave Raymond a bright grin in silence.

"I have no intention of staying on the good side of Ava White," Raymond opened his eyes, looking into Killian's with a firm tone, "I do not value her power over integrity, but..."

Raymond paused for a second before he continued--

"...but I WILL join the dark side with you, Killian Dunn."

It's so easy to read you," Raymond shook his head slowly, taunting Ava with a smirk, "I just threatened you with a life of no mate, yet you don't look afraid at all.
