Chapter 38

Storm

The rest of the afternoon went by without a hitch. After Alpha Doyle had shown me where he would be sleeping, I had made my way back downstairs, but I had retreated to the solitude of the porch where Alpha Doyle had taken me earlier. 

It was so quiet and so peaceful out here. I took a seat on the built-in porch seat and feeling content for the first time since I had arrived here, I watched the rain. I don’t know how long I was out there sitting in the cold and enjoying the quiet before Alpha Doyle came out to get me.

 “Dinner is ready love,” he said.

I got up from my seat and followed him back into the house. We made our way through the house to the dining room, and as soon as we entered the room, I saw that the table had already been set.
