Chapter 57

Storm

I had been sitting there on that lounge for what felt like forever. I was so wound up, that my stomach was in knots, and I was shaking. My lungs and chest felt so tight, that it was hard for me to draw a breath. I was also battling an overload of adrenaline within my system. I kept my guard up, as I continued to make sure that I was aware of where Alpha Doyle was at any given moment.

I continued to sit there while he sat at his office desk and worked on his laptop. I was waiting to see if he was going to say anything about what had taken place downstairs earlier. Or, if he was going to say anything about my attempted escape. I was certain that at some point, those two incidents were going to be brought up. Even though I knew that things were going to get bad when he brought them up, I was hoping he would bring them up sooner rather then later. I would prefer to not have them hanging over my head.
