Trapped mates
Trapped mates
Author: Eric T. L'havian

Prologue

"I have, and will never love you!" Said Kagern whose right arm was around Meghan's pencil-like waist. As for Meghan, she was leaning against his chest, rolling her almond amber eyes on Lavina.

Kagern and Lavina had been friends since their childhood. And since one was a beta's daughter and another one alpha's son, they thought that there was a possibility for them to be mates in future.

That's why he proposed to her that they should be lovers as a way of getting prepared to what was awaiting them.

A proposal that Lavina accepted without hesitation and started to love him unconditionally and uncontrollably until it was too late for her to erase Kagern who seemed to be changing over time from her mind.

"Meghan said I should tell you the truth. That I never loved you!" He continued to tell Lavina who stood frozen in front of this couple, her eyes doing the one and only thing they knew how to do very well whenever she would get hurt. Wherever she would feel helpless. Crying.

In life, it is harmless to find out that everyone has her own taste. That everyone has his way of understanding torwads anything which most of the times could be unique. That it's not a must to think like others. But it's not harmless to find out that a person who reached for your hand and took you into a journey of falling for him now enjoys to play with your emotions. That he gets ecstatic when you are getting  hurt.

Lavina could not understand why on earth, only one male confessed his negative attitude towards her. That he would never love her no matter what. A werewolf who approached her to start a relationship. A werewolf which later on did the same to end it.

Every male from Glowing circle pack thought that Lavina was a goddess. In their eyes, she was a precious stone, highly scarce and in demand. Not as gold of course, but diamond. In their eyes, her smooth skin was not only soft as it looked but a beaming rose. It gleamed like this precious stone of every girls wish for her ring on a 'will you marry me' day. She looked as if moon has burnished her with honey of bees which fed on flowers of a five-star garden.

She was the true definition of beauty, but of course, not in the eyes of Kagern.

What had happened? She used to be his queen beauty. Why had he changed? Lavina always wondered.

"This is why I invited you here!" Continued Kagern, pausing a little to steal a glance at Meghan whose face still looked hot from an adventure they had been having.

"To give you a  gift on this birthday of yours. To give you a memory that will remain indileble in your mind."

Kagern was the only child of alpha Pagern. The second in line to become alpha. As his father, his eyes were blue. He looked like a character in a werewolf show that Lavina had watched days and nights without eating or drinking anything but crying for it was very touching. A show that made him her crush.

She would always see him as a guy from that show. A guy whose life was something beyond hell. Who had never been loved. A guy who ended his life for he could no longer endure the torment from his mate.

That's why Lavina accepted Kagern's proposal to be his love even if they were not sure that they would really become mates. She wanted to be an opposite of that mate who tormented her second half to death. She wanted to give him an unconditional love, a love that Kagern never wanted.

Of course he was not that man from the show. Both his parents were still alive not that orphan from the movie. He was soon to become an alpha not a mere omega from that show. Not a nerd but a handsome guy whose every feature was on each and every she-wolf's wish list.

That's why he could not allow Lavina to give him that pity of hers. He had made it clear several times that he didn't love her sometimes by humiliating her in front their fellow students from Glowing academy.

"But why did you come to me and proposed in the first place?" She once asked him. He only chuckled and this gave her a hint that she had to let go.

It is the week she had lost hope in all her ways to resuscitate their love, the week she had decided to give up on him when he came to her and whispered into her ear sending shivers down her spine again.

"Queen beauty, I have a surprise for you!"

After hearing someone oncoming her way from behind her, she heard a romantic voice vibrating in her ear drums. "On your birthday, I'll be waiting for you deep into the intimate forest at that very spot we used... while waiting for the full moon."

She was taking out a novel from her locker, but when she heard him calling her by a nickname he gave her the time he proposed that they should be lovers, the novel was pushed back.

The only reason she was taking a novel with her was that she didn't want to feel bored at home but now she had something else to do.

"Woo-hoo! My birthday is tomorrow!" She told herself giggling after turning back to only find him leaving. "And Kagern has a surprise for me. I should make some preparations for the date."

Ever since her twin sister was dead and Kagern had changed, only novels were her friends.

No any other friend she had, not because there was no one willing to be one, but because she never  allowed anyone to tighten a friendship bond with her. It's like she was in some kind of depression.

The next day, before leaving for Intimate forest, she had done anything in her power to look gorgeous. Her body was adorned with  a beautiful dress with a bright color that would lit bonfire inside Kagern.

It was a skin tight which was showing the wonderful curves of her body but more important thing was around her chest. The dress was off-shoulder and it gave the outside world a better view of Lavina's upper part of her boobies.

Her full lips were rhyming with that tune. Red color. Highly gleaming and glittering was the lipstick.

She was now inside the intimate forest, and as she went deep and deeper, her mind was giving her some alternatives of what Kagern was going to tell her.

"I really love you, Lavina!" This was the first option.

The second, "You are my queen beauty and even me myself don't know the reason behind my recent behavior. The reason I have been treating you like that. Do you forgive me my love?"

"Why wouldn't I?" She formulated a reply for Kagern's question then giggled with excitement little did she know that things were going to be the opposite of what she thought.

The moon was not yet full, but the concentrations were visible so she could clearly find her way into the forest which was known to be a meeting place for mates or those who anticipated to be ones in future.

Though she had not yet gained her wolf, the excitement with her heart could not allow her to feel scared.

"I'm about to reach my paradise!" She said to herself stopping a little to reach for a perfume from her LV hand bag which she sprayed on both sides of her neck and in hair.

But before she could keep it and continue her journey, she heard a moan-like sounds from the other side of the bush that she stood next to.

This was nothing strange. That was the use of Intimate forest to most of the couples. But the girl who was moaning was calling some name.

"Ah... ah.. Kagern please!"

Kagern?

Lavina knew only one Kagern be it in human world, in Glowing moon pack, her pack or Flaming hybrids pack, her pack's rival, a pack of lycans.

Who was that Kagern then?

Out of curiosity, she tip-toed and when she saw what was going on, her sight became blurry because of the tears then she turned back into the direction she came from, ready to go and never open her mouth or ears for anything concerning Kagern.

This was a heartbreak. When he was distancing himself from her, she thought that that's what a heartbreak felt like. But now that she had just seen what she saw, she realized that a heartbreak was something else.

However, when she was leaving the forest, two figures blocked her way.

It was Kagern and whom thought was his whore.

"Hey where do you think you are going?" He asked with a mockery tone. "Did you get your surprise gift?"

Lavina knew that they were there to add a petrol in a bonfire so ignored them and tried to pass on the side that they were not occupying.

But he would not let her go. He grabbed her wrist.

"What do you want from me?" She asked shaking him off her then a conversation that enraged her started. A conversation that forced her wolf to finally surface.

Now, moon was full. Both Meghan and Kagern were starting to shape-shift. When  they saw that she was also shape-shifting, they ran away before the battle between them could erupt.

All Meghan wanted was that her Kagern would get rid of that girl because he was now her mate. That's why she had convinced Kagern to invite Lavina so she can hate him for real. Killing her was not in plan.

Because it was her first time shape-shifting it was going to take some time and controlling herself was going to be more difficult. That's why they exploited the opportunity to get as far as they can before her wolf would get control of her.

When morning came, Lavina found a dead rabbit on her bed. Blood splodges were all over the place and there was no one she could tell.

Her father was a beta and her mom was a gamma for she-wolf worriors. Her pack was getting prepared for the rising tension between it and their rival pack so her parents were nowhere to be seen.

She was used to being alone with only her twinsister's pictures and novels to share her life off-school with.

"La Lavina, I need you by my side please! I may not be as warrior as you have used to be, but now I have my wolf. I'm not that useless ass you used to call me." She said staring at her twinsister's portrait.

When she realized that she could not get a response,  a longing for revenge within her grew bigger making ways for bright ideas.

"My strengths are incomparable to those of that lycan who took your life, but my mind. I will create a weapon that will bring terror among lycans. That will make them shiver by only thinking about it as we do when we are thinking about them. I will kill Byron! I promise!"

After that promise, she opened her computer then googled lycans. Nowadays, strength was not only measured in physical units but also mental. One's sharp mind could be a threat to creatures who praised their muscles in front of a mirror.

You can never have everything by your side just as never a looser in everything. If she was ridiculed for not being as good as her family members in martial arts, she was going to be better than them where IQ would be needed.

After research, she sat down with her notebook then began to brainstorm ideas on how she would kill Byron. A lycan that she thought she hated the most.

Perhaps, that's because she didn't know how badly she was soon to beg for his kiss.
