Mission or Misery?
Basement was chilly or the memory made them feel cold, was yet to be known.
Leo looked at his hand and saw goosebumps raised. The scene was still in front of his eyes.
He stepped ahead and turned to look behind as someone caught his arm. It was Adi. He looked at her petrified face. It was pale as if blood drained from her body.
"Adi?" Leo called her name, shaking her shoulders.
Adi snapped back to present and lost her balance falling in Leo's arm and burst out. Vivian came forward, trying to console her. Leo lifted her and took her to their room and rubbed her back as she cried in his arms.
The memory was traumatic. It took hours for them to get back to their senses and think sanely. In another memory, the portal took them to a different memory as soon as the house of Ada and Lenn was set on fire. They couldn't witness what Ada went through, but still were disturbed.
