“My darling, you look so stunning”.

Madam de Bosse, a robust woman in her late fifties proudly declared beaming with excitement. Amelia looked at herself in the mirror, she had truly made a stunning bride, her makeover had accentuated her perfect blue eyes, pointed nose and round face giving off the look of sophistication.

She had specifically requested for a red lip coloration on her full lips and a bold jewelry on her delicate neckline. Her strapless ball gown is one to sure make all heads turn. She had been initially skeptical about a revealing wedding outfit but she had to look the part for the day.

“A penny for your thought Ma Cherie, i had an unsettling feeling towards your change of theme from conservative to provocative outlook overnight but looking at you now I am marveled at how perfectly gorgeous you look”, Madam de Bosse rambled on, Amelia contemplated ignoring her words but decided against it, she had to be as pleasant as possible.

“I chose the best and most expensive designer in New Orleans for a reason”.

Amelia brightly smiled at her, although she hated the woman`s nosiness but she was glad she is perfect at what she does.

Amelia felt herself drawn to tears but she managed to suck it up, it was her wedding day and she wasn't going to ruin her flawless makeup with futile tears. Her family had put a lot into making her wedding day really exceptional and she had made up her mind to ensure it becomes the talk of the town for years to come.

She glanced at her phone, the picture of herself cuddled lovingly with her groom graced her face, she smiled inwardly at her enthusiasm, he had always made her happy and today, she plans to repay him generously.

Drake Harris had arrived at the wedding venue in his latest 2022 Rolls Royce, his butler, a stout man in his late forties had hurried down from the driver's seat to open the door for his young master. Despite the unpleasant look on his face his sharp handsome features and well tailored black suit made him a sight to behold.

Wasting two productive hours of his day in a boring wedding was part of his duties as the heir to his father's company `The infinity clothier` .He had gotten used to his duty of smiling with people he would have preferred to punch in the face.

The wedding hall was so exquisite and spacious, well decorated with shimmering interior screaming generational wealth, Drake seems to be impressed as obviously Mr Dinkins had really outdone himself for his first daughter`s holy matrimony union.

Drake walked briskly into the hall with the powerful aura about him screaming charming, he was met on his way by a waitress whose jaw almost dropped at the sight of him, he took a champagne glass from her tray and walked on.

He could feel a lot of feminine lustful gaze following his strides but he couldn’t care less as he was used to the attention, he came across many familiar faces of rich and powerful celebrities, business Mongols and prominent figures in the society.

He got into his acting phase, the unpleasant look on his face was replaced by a charming fake smile, it was time to mingle so he did effortlessly. About fifteen minutes after his arrival, the wedding proceedings commenced.

It was the usual groom grinning from ear to ear, boring priest words, well seated guest things but the table turned at the bride's entrance announcement, all heads turned including Drake`s. Drake was amazed, the bride's look was far from boring as her profile had suggested, her red lips and pulp upper bust line her dress revealed could make any man be tempted to erection.

Her provocative appearance was met with different reactions from the guests, some wore disapproving looks especially the older women, the younger ladies were parading their jealousy with open detest. All the while she kept her demure and composure smiling brightly as she walked towards her groom while holding her father's arm in hers.

Leonard Lang looked exceptionally sophisticated in his well tailored custom made suit, he is a tall lanky young man in his late twenties, he couldn’t really be referred to as handsome but wasn’t ugly either, his inadequacies were well compensated by his body framework, he had the body of an athlete.

Leonard was a new money who came from the swamp but the Dinkins didn’t mind as their daughter's happiness supersedes material wealth or family connections, they had dated for three years and they both seemed to be very much in love.

Leonard was elated as Amelia walked towards him, she looked exceptionally sexy today, his lustful mind had imagined her red lips on his, his hands wrapped around her delicate waistline, thrusting his erection into her sweetness. His imagination was cut short the moment she walked up to face him and the priest started the wedding vows.

“Do you Leonard Lang take Amelia Dinkins as your lawfully wedded wife?” The priest inquired

“Yes I do”, Leonard interjected hastily.

He had been waiting for this moment for a long time, so the question wasn’t a difficult one to answer, just as they had practiced beforehand , he looked his bride in the eyes and gave her a heartfelt warm smile which she didn’t seem to notice

“Do you Amelia Dinkins take Leonard Lang as your lawfully wedded husband?”

“I do”, Amelia responded calmly but audibly

“If there is any objection from the crowd in pronouncing these two as man and wife speak up now or forever hold their peace”, the priest loudly inquired

Silence ensured in the hall this was always the most difficult phase, Drake had wondered why this part had to be included in vows. It was always unsettling just as it was two years ago on his wedding day.

The priest had repeated his words the second time but it was met with dead silence. He proceeded to repeat it the third time but the hall still kept mute, he heaved a sigh of relief and continued his speech enthusiastically

“In the absence of any objection I hereby pronoun….” he was cut short unexpectedly

“I object”, Amelia declared loudly.

“Your in-laws’ mansion is impressive,” Charlotte noted, her eyes roamed around the room. A suitable place for a discussion, if not a refuge.”“It’s the only place you won’t feel entitled to sit in,” Amelia shot back, the words laced with annoyance. “You have no right to be here. Say what you came to say, and then leave.”Charlotte smiled, a cold, elegant gesture that didn’t involve her eyes. “I came for two reasons, Amelia. First, to eliminate the noise. Edward Crane will not bother you again. He is an amateur playing a professional’s game, and he just crossed a boundary I cannot tolerate. I will make sure he is apprehended, permanently. Consider it a guarantee. The threat ends now.”Amelia scoffed loudly, and suddenly Charlotte felt the urge to protect her after finding out that she was her daughter.“Weren’t you working with Edward Crane before?” She said challengingly.“I wasn’t! I was indifferent towards his charade with your Inlaw’s but now, I am going to protect what is mine.”T

The movement was jerky, betraying the panic his eyes refused to show.Charlotte Duke stood in the marble archway, the black dress suddenly seeming less like mourning attire and more like a uniform of war. Her eyes, usually cool and calculating, were alight with a terrifying intensity. They settled instantly on Graham, bypassing Amelia entirely, seeing him only as the architect of her decade of pain.“Switched? My daughter?” Charlotte advanced slowly, each step echoing the hollow clang of inevitability. She didn’t look at Amelia for confirmation; Amelia’s words had been enough. She looked at Graham, demanding a confession only he could give.Helena emerged from the roo

Leonard felt his legs wobble for sitting down on a spot for way too long. One look at his wrist watch he cussed inwardly.
