Chapter-04

“Yes, we did it,” I yelled when the car took off. My things are still in my home but I don’t want to go back. At least I can be happy living here with Madelaine.

“Thanks, Maddy” I let out a deep breath. “Anything for my friend,” she smiled. We reached her home, and she allotted me a room and I don’t think of any other things. If I think about my parent’s issue, I will surely be sick by the next day. I just slept to forget all my sorrows.

The next day, I rushed to the academy as I slept for more hours. “Don’t you want breakfast?” Maddy shouted behind me. She’s not only good at inventions but also at cooking? A multi-talented person. “No, I will buy something. Bye, see you later and I will take your car.” I ran into her car and reached the academy way sooner than I expected. I am glad to know how to drive a car. All thanks to Maddy again. Today I felt so relieved.

“Hey” I knocked hazel on her shoulder all of a sudden.” Whoa, it’s you, Stella. you really scared me." she said with an alarmed tone.

“Sorry” I beamed at her.

“You seem super happy. One Day break changed you a lot”

“Yes,” I said, but she was distracted by something else.

“Hey, what are you looking at?” she turned towards me and smiled.

“There’s a new guy in our academy.”

I am excited to meet him. He’s in the principal room now and someone was talking that he’s going to be in our class.”

“oh, that’s cool,” I said with no excitement like her. Hazel is always attracted to boys and stays single. Then I waited with her. Finally, the door opened, and a boy came out and everyone in the hallway was staring at him, but the thing he only laid his eyes on me.

“Chris” I murmured.

“You know him,” Hazel bounced off.

“Yeah, give me a second,” I said and walked towards him. I am not mad right now but I really want to know why did he leave without a word.

“Don’t tell anything. I am sorry I ran off,” He apologized.

“It’s okay, I am not angry at all,” I lied. Actually, I wanted to scold him. He’s not my friend. We just met two times. But the moment he spoke to me, my anger vanished in a flash.

“So, you joined here,” I added.

“Yes, and I should give you something” he took his bag and searched for something and held a note.

“You left your journal at the cafe. That’s how I found out where you are studying.” I was dumbstruck for a minute. I wanted to say thank you.

“Um... did you read anything?” but I accidentally yelled at him.

“No, I assure you I didn’t. I just saw the address.”

“Okay, silly me. I should thank you first,” he smiled at me. He is handsome with his blue eyes, brown hair. Every time I see him, I am admiring him more and more. I have a boyfriend. I should not think of anything like this.

“I will see you later. Got to go.” I waved at him and turned away.

“Stella,” he called me with my name slowly. I turned and closed my jaw shut.

“I think we both are having the same class now”

I hesitated for a minute. “ that’s right.”

Back in the class. I saw Adam again. I will surely be pissed off if he talks to me, but he didn’t. No expectations, I know he won’t.

I sat next to hazel. “You should have introduced him to me. “ Hazel looked mad and tapped her pen on the table with a force.

“I am so sorry. I will surely do it after class.” I looked pitifully at her.

“I believe you,” she turned towards professor Alaric.

“So, we can start over from where we left,” Alaric begins.

“As I told there’s no living being on any other planet except earth,” how many times are people going to say this? I am tired of this talk. It’s pretty boring.

“I oppose it,” someone said. Who will say something like that? That’s Chris?

“Excuse me” Alaric stared at him.

“I said I am opposing it”

“First of all, I don’t like being interrupted in class. I think you are a new student. Next, did you go to some other planet or do you have any proof? You should behave well in my class. I’m not like other teachers.” He warned him.

“Do you have any proof that nothing exists on other planets?” he questioned him.

“You got no right to ask me. Have you been listening to me or not?”

Chris muttered something to himself and took his hands off the bench.

“I don’t need to explain to you. You go on,” he said and cut off the conversation. Alaric turned away and started teaching. Alaric is a late forties man who always shows a smiling face to others, except for Chris, I guess.

After the bell rang. Hazel took me outside of the classroom. “Don’t rush, I will introduce him”

“No, not that. It’s Friday. So, are you coming to today’s party?”

“I didn’t think of that.”

“No, you should come and maybe we can spend some time going shopping. Tell yes, yes. Please…” how can I say no to her? I don’t like parties. I am not that type. The worst thing I hate is the people who are hooking up. It’s so disgusting to me. What to do? But my friend is also important.

“I will come.”

“That’s cool” she bounced off again and again.

“See you later and also invite the new boy,” she winked.

“So, you asked me to come for the new boy Chris,” I doubted, but she already ran off.

“She is who she is,” I turned and saw something so heart-breaking. Adam is kissing a girl.

“What the fuck?” I yelled without control. He heard me and stammered near his locker.

“What happened? Why you stopped?” the girl whispered in his ear. She doesn’t notice me and I don’t even know her.

“I will talk to you later,” he said and ran towards me.

“Don’t take another step,” I backed off.

“You misunderstood Stella. I mean... It’s not what you think,” he tried to tell something stupid.

“That’s enough. Your lie isn’t good enough to prove you are true. Try harder.” I turned away, but he clutched my hand.

“Let me go,” I yelled in the hallway. Everyone’s eyes are on us.

“Let me explain,” he said in a commanding tone. But then I heard loud familiar voice. He let go of my hand. When I turned, I saw Chris.

“Go away or I will beat the shit out of you.” Adam looked embarrassed and left, glancing at me one last time.

“Thanks” I got relieved.

“That’s okay, but he won’t suit you,” Chris looked hateful. It’s been a short time, but he’s helping me. I said nothing, but stared at myself. I think Chris knows Adam’s boyfriend. Everyone started moving to the next class.

“Surely you don’t deserve someone like this,” suddenly tears fall down my eyes.

“Hey, don’t cry” he touched my cheek and got closer.

“It’s not only about Adam.”

“So, what are you worrying about?” I thought for a moment and told him about my parents. By the time I finished telling him, I stopped crying. I am happy that something is there to hear my sorrow.

“I am telling you; the past is gone. You deserve the best.”

“Really, I don’t think so. I always got the worst, even so, I have hope, but nothing changed in my life,” I said, not looking at his face.

“You are wrong. You waited so long and you are going to get the best life nobody has ever got” he pulled my face up and looked at me. Iam standing next to my locker and he slowly leaned towards me. I didn’t resist, did nothing. I am standing like a statue.

“You deserve someone,” he said everyone slowly and I can feel his breath near me.

“Better” he finished, and the bell rang again. He took steps backwards.

“See you later,” he left with a smile.
