CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE: Death

ALEX'S POV

I watch Ariel as she dishes out the food. Trying to scare her, I tiptoed from behind.

“Boom,”

I tried to scare her, but she only looked at me smiling.

“I’m already aware of your presence,” she said, and I felt disappointed by that.

“Mind helping me out here?”

I moved closer and then picked up the food she had dished out and served it on the dining table. I had decided to be nice to her since she saved me yesterday. It's not that I have any crazy feelings here, but I just think she is a good person, unlike the bitch she called a sister.

Looking at her from behind, I wondered why she went through such experiences. She seems wonderful and kind-hearted, so why did all those bad things happen to her? I know I'm not a good person, and that's been the reason for what happened with Vanessa, and I won't make that mistake again. I won't allow another woman to suffer because of me.

As I am serving the dishes, a message comes in on her phone, and I peep at it.
