CHAPTER TWENTY: HIS TRUAMA

ARIEL'S POV

After a long day at work, I receive a message from Jessica and I dial the emergency number immediately, then rush to her house. Upon arrival, I meet her almost dead with her son crying beside her, and I can't find that bastard anywhere.

"It's fine, the ambulance will soon be here," I reassure as tears flow down her swollen face.

As the ambulance arrives, the paramedics request that I step back, allowing them to attend to Jessica. I lift Jamie in my arms and follow them into the ambulance.

In the hospital, I stand beside Jessica as the doctor provides treatment, watching her sleep peacefully.

"Ariel, I'm hungry," Jamie says.

"Stay here with mommy, and let me get you something to eat," I say, lifting him off my lap and placing him back in his seat, then step out to get some snacks for Jamie.
