Chapter 9 – Laid down to slumber

Reyna clung to Rodrigo the whole drive home, there was an awkward silence in the car. Rodrigo was lost in thought. Reyna was sleeping on his lap and Jacob was watching the two from his mirror while driving. Rodrigo knew where Reyna stayed. When he had found out she was starting at Junction Media he had made a point of asking HR for her file.

They stopped outside Reyna’s apartment complex. He was wondering how she could afford a place like this when she only just started working. Must be the man she left him for that bought her the apartment, he wondered what happened to him, her file said she was single. He shrugged his shoulders and got out of the car, still holding Reyna bridal style in his arms.
