Chapter 3. Surprise

Me and Emma head down to the party together. There is noise from everywhere, and the music is already loud. "Your parents are awesome," Emma squeals.

"Yeah, they are not too bad," I laugh as we get to the back door, ready to head outside to the actual party. As soon as we stepped out the door, everyone turned in our direction. Since I am a wolf, the loud yells and screams make me cringe. Even though the noise is too loud, I give them all a big smile. Rod walks up to Emma first and grabs her, and pulls her in for a big hug. I smile at them and start walking to where I see my mother and father. My mother and father are the perfect pair. My mom is a thin woman with long black hair like mine. That is the only thing we share in appearance. My dad Bastien Sullivan is the Alpha of our pack. He is 6'4 in height. He is muscular and very intimidating if you do not know him. However, with his kids and Luna, he is a very loving and giving man. He has blue eyes that are like staring at the sky. My sister and brothers get their eyes from him.

"There is the birthday girl." my dad says as he grabs me in a hug. My mom laughs as I struggle to breathe in his grasp. "I thought this was going to be a small party?" I say as he releases me. "Yeah, it's not that many people!" mom giggles as she looks around. I respond with, "if you say so." " Well, have fun but not too much," my dad says and winks at me. I turn to head toward the bar to get a drink. Mia is already there getting a cup of some punch. "I need something with a little kick," I tell Josh behind the bar. "anything for the birthday girl," he says as he gives me a wink and fixes my drink. So I know I am not 21 yet, but werewolves do not have the same reaction to alcohol as humans do. We can consume alcohol like humans do soda. The only way for us to get drunk is to have the drink mixed with a touch of wolfsbane. Josh walks back with my glass and hands it to me.

"Hope you enjoy it, Raine!" He draws out my name and winks. I can't help but blush. At the same time, Mia jumps up and screams, "they are back, they are back!" When I turn around, I am overtaken by two things. First is the sent of cranberry and cinnamon. Second is the piercing blue eyes of no other than Luca, my brother. I gasp and can only stay in my spot staring at him. His eyes never leave mine. He does not look away, not even when Mia, Mom, and dad hug him. Then, after hugging them, he slowly starts to walk my way. I feel like I can't breathe, and when I do, all I can smell is him—the sweet smell of cranberry and cinnamon. There is no better combination. When he gets to me, he grabs me and hugs me—lifting me off the ground. He buries his head in my neck and takes a deep breath.

"Mine," he growls in my neck. I am so shocked that I don't know what to say. How can my stepbrother be my mate? Just as I am trying to figure this out in my head, I am then hit with another sent that almost makes me moan aloud. Pine an apple hit me. I look over Luca's shoulder to meet the eyes of Levi.

"What the hell is going on?" slips from my mouth before I can stop myself. Luca looks over to Levi, and they both share a smile, and I think my heart stops beating. I stare from one to the other, not knowing where I am supposed to look. I don't even know how I am supposed to feel about this. I always wanted my mate to be like my brothers. Little did I know that my brother would be my mate. But wait, not just my brother. I have two mates, and they are both my brothers. How in the hell did this happen. What are my parents going to think? OMG, how is the pack going to react to this? It is not common to have two mates, but it is not unheard of in the werewolf community. Finally, Levi reaches me and takes me from Luca's arms, engulfing me in a hug. He smells so good, I think to myself. He also places his head in my neck and smells me. I can hear him growl mine as he smells me. I start to look around, worried that someone else has heard. Luckily everyone is just smiling, thinking that we are happy to see each other after so long. They have both been gone for over a year. They have been at Alpha training for almost two years. As we all take a step back from each other, mom, dad, and mia join us.

"So happy to have you boys home!" dad says as he hugs them both. "Yeah, it's good to be home!" Luca speaks up but looks at me as he says it. "Did you miss your partner in crime," dad says with a laugh as he tilts his head toward me, and I choke on air? The guys and I were always getting into trouble. They would talk me into doing things I knew I would get in trouble for, but I wanted to hang out with them, so I did it anyway. But after realizing they are my mates, this all feels so awkward.

"Are you ok?" Levi asked, sounding worried. As I try to get my composure, I say, " yes, I am fine." Emma comes up beside me and grabs my hand, and starts to pull me to the dance floor. I am glad, but I hear the grunts from Levi and Luca. "Come on; you have not danced all night." "Yeah, but it has not even been an hour since the party started," I say in protest. As soon as she stops pulling me, I see Josh on the dance floor. Oh, this is not going to be good, is all I can think to myself.
