Nathan's POV

I freeze.

For one second, I stare into the screen. My head is blank. I can't think. Can't move.

I force myself to breathe, only to realize how badly my hands are shaking.

This is the first image of my mother I'm seeing since we parted and I'm seeing her in this way…. Bleeding… fragile… helpless…

Something breaks inside me.

Without thinking, I turn and storm out.

“Hey! What is that?”

I distantly hear Liam's voice echo as I dash out of his study but I don't stop.
