Bloodline

I was kind of relieved when we left the Windsors.

Hal was stressing both Lee and me out about the future of our baby. The baby was the size of maybe a cantelope and its life was already being planned out for it.

“I’m so sorry about all of that,” Lee sighed. “My father…well you know by now.”

“He’s just excited. It’s his first grandchild, you know?”

“I guess. I just wish he wasn’t so obnoxious about it.”

“I know, Lee, I’m sorry.” I whispered. “On the bright side I’m about to have the first Thanksgiving in forever where my dad won’t be drunk out of his mind.” I smiled.

A grin slowly spread across Lee’s face. “Yeah, I guess that is pretty amazing.”

Grayson was already there when we arrived. He was waiting for us outside.

“Why didn’t you go in?” I asked.

“Your dad still makes me kind of nervous.,” Grayson admitted.

“Glad I’m not the only one,” Lee chuckled as I rang the doorbell.

“Oh you’re here!” Sophia smiled. “Come in!”
