The warm water had splashed on Selene's hand, making her wince in pain.

Lewie stood at a place unbothered; he took no step forward, nor did he look back or care to know what happened to Selene. He continued walking to his room.

"Did you not hear me cry out in pain? Do you want to pretend like you heard nothing? Do you now dislike me so much that you don't even care about me again?" Selene asked in pain, her eyes burning red in anger.

Lewie gave no response; he kept mute and went his way.

"I kept blaming myself for everything, even when I knew I did nothing wrong. You locked me out of your study room without letting me explain; I tried apologising in every way I could. I woke up very early in the morning so I could prepare your favourite dish, but what did I get in return? You snubbed me! Even when I slipped while carrying the dish I made for you, you never cared to help me out. You didn't even look in my direction, you didn't care to know if I was okay or not. I almost injured myself thanks to Leon, who was here in time to save me. Today again, I stood here under this weather, waiting for you just to make sure you drink something warm. What did I get in return? NOTHING!!. You snubbed me and pretended like I didn't exist even when you knew I was in pain both in my hands and in my heart." Tears flowed freely down her cheeks, and Selene voiced out all the emotions she had hidden.

Her voice wasn't too loud, but it was enough to express her feelings.

The patience and self-guilt she once had have turned to anger with the way Lewie kept treating her.

"Since you want to act like I don't exist, FINE!! Then I have no reason to act like we are dating, and I owe you no apologies again," Selene was determined to break up with Lewie within herself and act like he didn't exist.

The next day, Lewie woke up like a starved lion, ready to devour any food he saw.

He grabbed a bottle of water and walked to the kitchen; from the hallway, he could perceive the nice aroma of food flowing out from the kitchen.

"Good morning, young master Lewie," Selene greeted casually, her eyes focused on the dish, her tone too distant.

Lewie noticed the way Selene greeted him; his eyes widened in shock, his ear and cheek red from anger, and his mouth twisted to the other side.

Still pretending to be angry, he pulled out a chair and sat down; his hands scrolling through his phone nonstop, but at intervals, he stopped scrolling and stared in Selene's direction.

Lewie's stomach growled every minute, but Selene didn't care; she took her time to make the food, and when it was ready, she passed beside Lewie and carried the food to the dining table while Lewie followed behind quietly.

"Uncle Nuel!!, Leon!,. Can you come down? Let's have breakfast," she informed them as she knocked on their doors.

Though the Guilford family is among the ten wealthiest families in the city, she and her uncle were given Access to the dining; they were allowed to eat at the dining table with the Guilford family without any status discrimination.

Lewie, who has been busy all this time with his phone, noticed them coming down, unbothered; he sat tight, expecting his food to be dished out.

Selene didn't let Lewie's presence affect her; she just dished out the food into three plates, placed one at the front of her uncle, the other at Leon's front, and the last one she carried for herself.

The sound of cutlery clashing with each other made Lewie lift his head.

Everyone was busy eating their food, but there was nothing on his plate.

Surprised, he turned his gaze to Selene.

Selene could feel his gaze on her; she acted like no one was looking at her, and she kept digging into her food, chewing it like it was her last meal.

"This is very delicious; I think I have improved a lot on my cutlery skills," she asked no one in particular, her eyes still focused on her food.

His nose had inhaled so much aroma that his stomach growled nonstop; it was so loud that he couldn't hide it or deny it.

"And where is my food?" He asked no one, but his eyes were fixed on Selene.

There was no answer; only the plate, fork, and cup sounds answered him.

"Selene, where is my food? And when did you start making food for only three people, knowing we are more than three here!"

"Sorry, young master Lewie, are you done fasting?" She asked, with a devilish smirk on her face.

"And when did I inform you I was fasting" he asked calmly.

Uncle Nuel and Leon drop the cutlery quietly as they watch Selene put up an act.

"Sorry, young master Lewie, I thought you were observing a fast, " Selene answered without lifting her head.

"You thought??" He asked with a confused look.

"Young master Lewie, you had rejected food twice, so I concluded you are on a fast, and I don't want to be the reason you should break it." Selene stood up slowly. "And besides, there was no assurance that you would be interested in eating the food I made, so I had to save myself the stress of including you." She walked past Lewie, making sure her shoulder brushed together with his shoulder; she walked away, her head high, without turning back.

Lewie turned to look at Leon and Uncle Nuel; they noticed his head turning towards their direction; they bowed their heads, focused on their food, and acted like they didn't witness the mini altercation between him and Selene.

Leon had an evil smirk on his face, which he didn't try to hide from Lewie.

Slowly, Selene was pulled to her feet. She held onto her Saviour's waist while her head listened to his heartbeat."I'm Sorry, I didn't mean to go through your stuff", she apologised without raising her head."You don't want to talk to me? Do you know how sad I have been since last night? I couldn't sleep last night." She pressed her head tightly against his body. " Say something, please," she begged in a baby voice."Huh, Huh, Huh!" She asked, her head up trying to look at Lewie's face, but was shocked when she saw who she had been holding. All this while she held the waist of the man who had saved her, and was apologising, she thought it was Lewie who saved her, but she never knew it was Leon.In shock, she tried to push Leon away but she lost her balance and ended up falling, hitting

Selene flinched in shock, and she unconsciously took four steps back. Her back is against the bookshelf. "What's wrong, Lewie?" she asked gently, her voice barely out like a whisper. "What do you think you are doing? huhh!! Going through my stuff" Lewie's face darkened as he looked at the photo she held in her hands "I was just trying to........"She tried explaining, but her voice faded when she noticed how angry Lewie was with her. Without waiting for her to complete her sentence, Lewie dashed forward, dragged the photo out of her hands and trashed it in the nearest trash bucket in the study. "Don't you dare touch my things again, without my consent, " he snapped at her. His finger pointed at her, his voice loud and void of emotion. "I Never meant to........." Lewie, who wasn't giving her any listening ear, interrupted her. " Can you leave here now!?" He asked in a low forced voice that sounded harsh. "Can I explain?" Selene pleaded, her eyes holding emotions. Lewie grabb

Lewie pushed through the door; he had received a call earlier telling him that Selene was hospitalised. Without exchanging pleasantries with the nurses. "Selene Silver?" He asked in between breaths. The nurse was still trying to register what he said when he spoke again. "Where is Selene Silver?" This time, his voice was loud and sharp. The nurse, startled by his voice's sharpness and urgency, pointed in Selene's direction while talking to him. "Room 203, go down the hallway to your........" The remaining words died off slowly. Before she could complete the statements, Lewie was halfway down the hallway. In his eyes, the hallway looks unending, but he finally reaches room 203 with a long big stride. He gently pushed the half-opened door open and froze. Leon was seated beside Selene on her bed, his eyes downcast, and his hands held Selene's pale, fragile fingers. She lay still and pale against the hospital bed. Lewie's stomach dropped, and his breath hitched when he saw

  • Two Brothers On Her; A dark Secret of the past    Confession

*****FLASHBACK***** After Leon and Selene's mini confrontation, Leon went to his room while Selene sat at the sitting. Her thoughts went back to the night she spent with Lewie. Would she want to pretend like nothing happened? Can her heart also pretend with her? Why does she feel that way about Lewie? Maybe she was just a fling, does Lewie feel anything for her? All this and more are running through her mind. Having decided to listen to her heart, she walked around the room trying to build her confidence on how to confront Lewie when he came back. While practising how to confess her growing love for Lewie, she made a deal with the wall clock never to take her eyes off it. Suddenly, the door was opened, and there stood Lewie in his suit, looking stressed out. His shirt was half unbuttoned, and his tie was. “Why are you still awake??” He asked as he looked at his watch and took a step forward. “Nothing!!! I just wanted to…” The remaining words went back to her stomach, making her

  • Two Brothers On Her; A dark Secret of the past    Late

Morning light crept through the curtain to the room; Selene stirred first. Her eyes opened to the slow rhythm of Lewie’s breathing beside her, but the sunlight blinded her for some minutes. For a moment, she didn’t move, afraid she might wake up from this imagination. Reality crashed into her; the burning, passionate kisses, the battle of tongues looking for dominance, had happened between her and Lewie. Her breath changed as the memory rushed back to her. His lips, the weight of his hands on her waist, the way her heart had skipped with every kiss they shared.. She sat up, suddenly too aware of everything: her heartbeat, her messy hair. Lewie let out a soft groan as he turned beside her. Lewie blinked. “Morning…” “Morning.” Selene turned with a not-too-bright smile on her face. Silence occupied the room again, and the air was heavy and uncomfortable. Lewie rubbed the back of his neck, not looking in her direction, even though he could feel her gaze on him. “About last night
