Gustav's POV

"Fuck me!" I cupped my damaged crotch to get a hold of myself. Who would have thought a wolfless girl could cause much damage?

"How did I let my guard down in the first place?" I asked no one in particular.

"When you couldn't have enough of her over-the-top beauty." Blood, my wolf mocked. Over time, my wolf and I had argued to become knit as one.

Yeah, we argued through everything to agree on almost nothing.

At first, I hated him when I was an Omega. He was way out of control for me to tame. He was a beast, thronging for the metallic taste of warm rippling blood to quench his bloody thirst.

With time, we learned to understand each other, striking a truce that worked. That, to a considerable extent too. We agreed the domineering of one by the other would not be allowed, and I can say it was one hell of a deal.

"Shut up, Blood" I snarled, rising to my feet with one hand wrapped firmly around the door knob to support my weight, like a toddler learning the rubrics of walking.

"All right, kiddo. But you and I know you blew your chances with her."

"What do you expect me to do? Accept a lying wolfless girl as my luna? I'll be a fool to claim her!" A wave of annoyance coursed through my veins. The thought disgusted me.

"One, she didn't lie to you. You didn't do your home work by asking who she really was. You were swooned by what you saw in a picture, and you fell for her. And secondly, she's not entirely wolfless. She just haven't come to sense her wolf." Blood expatiated.

"What?!" Not that I didn't understand what my wolf said, I didn't just like the way he corrected me.

I'm no fucking kid anymore for fuck's sake.

"Go. Send your guards after her, and bring her back to you. She'll accept you again if you apo..."

"Cut the crap, Blood. You're not making any sense here. How do you except me to stoop to apologize to a girl who's close to being a mere human?" I flared my hands into the air in frustration. "I'm an alpha, God dammit!"

"It's always your ego over reason everytime. That's the only problem I have with you. But never forget one thing; we're one. Our interests and emotions are aligned, Gustav." His guttural voice was reduced into a husky bellow.

"I know that. You don't have to remind me about that."

"I'm not sure you still do. If you do, you'll know I sense how fast your pulse fired on setting your eyes on her. You want her!"

I ran one hand through my head. Blood was right. The moment I sighted her alighting from the royal limo from the double paned glass of my bedroom, I had wanted her immediately. She was a petite redhead with an endless stream of grace ebbing out of her.

The altitude of my room above the ground gave me a perfect view of her round shapely breasts sitting comfortably on the cups of her black champagne gown. She was definitely a double D because her large melons had a hard time sitting still in the small cups of her dress. With each step she took up the stairs, I had wished the next step would bring her right into my room, where I could do to her, the worst of all canal sins.

The glitters scattered around her hair reflected the romantic secrets of the twilight, signalling the end of a long and busy day I had had with the pack elders. The lustful moans from a pleasure-filled slut, and a warm bath were the most appropriate finish to end the day.

Every appraisal and expectation I had about meeting her went down a hundred feet tunnel when I was told she killed her parents. I could accept that part of the story.

There's always a back story to every shit that happens, and I settled to let the sleeping Jack lie unperturbed.

But what I'd never forgive is that no one told me she was wolfless until Drogo, my chief enforcer broke the news to me a couple of days before her arrival. A primal vexation ran up my spine and down into the corridors of my heart to burn up every shimmer of affection I had for her.

Alpha Payne had hid that truth about her from me. Deliberately. It was nothing short of fraud and treachery. The best form of revenge I could think of was to have her as my slave- my sex doll.

Such sweet raunchy revenge for fooling me. I would not stop until I clawed my name on her well-rounded ass, while I explored the inside of her wet walls with my throbbing monster. Even without her in the room, my body still responded to her.

So help me God if I don't make an example of the Dark Moon Pack. They will be sure not to mess with me again.

"Are you even listening to me, Gustav?!" Blood's husky voice stole me away from my fantasies and brought me crashing back to the realization that I had a damaged crotch to nurse. It hurt to think about my little defeat.

"Yes, Master Blood." I sneered with my eyes rolled to the back of my head.

"Bring her, and teach her how to sense her wolf. Kitana is somewhere inside her. She must be found...and saved.

"How did you know that? How did you know the name of her wolf?" I was dumbstruck.

"Wolfs have the ability to sense another wolf and know how they feel. We can smell one another; friend or foe, free or caged."

"Caged?" The pain winding my monster was wearing out now. I gathered myself on the edge of the narrow bed in the small square room. The discovery proved to be interesting. "What do you mean caged?"

"She hasn't sensed her wolf because she doesn't want it to be found."

"Stop talking like a fucking sage, and speak in a language I understand, Blood!" I was growing impatient. I needed to know more. All of them.

"Oi, watch your tone, human. I have the upper hand here, remember?" It wasn't a statement that sounded like a threat. It was a goddamn threat. The last time I pushed Blood to the wall, I killed four of the royal guards and almost killed my father, the former Alpha of the pack. I had gone on blunt rampage on a full moon.

"I'm sorry." I humbled.

"Good boy. Now, where were we?" He paused slightly, and continued. "She has a bandaged heart, yet bleeding." Blood divulged, sitting on all fours, and resting his head on his crossed fore limbs.

"What the f.. what do you mean?" I was about using the 'F' word again, but I remembered Blood's threat just in time to eat off the remaining fucking letters.

"She has not gotten over an ache buried deep within her heart. It could be a nightmare, a bad encounter, or the death of a loved one."

"How do we get her to unlock her wolf?"

"Love." The tone of his voice had a tinge to it. It sounded like the feeling of nostalgia over a long lost history.

"Love? What do you mean?" I was indeed puzzled by his reply? I thought it was a damage that could be repaired by magic or physical training, but I was disappointed.

"It's the key to unlocking her wolf."

"When you said you could smell another wolf's emotion, what did you think her wolf smells like. "

Blood snorted deeply and heaved, closing his eyes." She smells like fear. Dangerous dark fear. "

  • Two Kingdoms, One Mate   Epilogue

Monica's POVI never knew I could be this tense. My heart raced a marathon, standing beside Gustav, hands locked. We met the rest of the people outside as well. They'd been waiting for us to come out. Drogo had thrown us pieces of clothings the moment he saw us running out of the bunker. We'd brought with us few changes of garment as a contingency; only that we never foresaw the night wearing long and tragic as this. By now, the moon had reclined behind the clouds, bowing out of the podium for the sun to take its cue. The air was surprisingly chilly around me, and I welcomed the first day of the sun perching on my face in a canvass of yellow and orange. Gustav had ordered everyone to move three miles away from the area. Owing to the final battle between Iris and Laura, it was only expected of us that the bunker would collapse. It had taken on many hits already to keep it standing.Klein rushed forward to ask us about Ludovic and Iris. I was too sorry to tell him they couldn't make

  • Two Kingdoms, One Mate   Chapter 128: Laura's End

Iris' POVIt felt like a very bad dream. My world shattered to tiny bits under me, caving beneath my feet. I couldn't breath, I couldn't talk; I just felt lost. Everything was happening so quickly that I forgot to breath in the bad air surrounding me. Ludovic turned to his side, resting his elbow on his hands. He cast his face the other way, spitting black blood on the dusty tile. His lengthy black hair fell over his head, covering his face from me. Placing one hand on the ground, he pushed himself to a kneeling position, backing me and groaning gravely. I saw the dagger hanging below his shoulder blade. He backed me. He didn't want me seeing him weak in the face of death. Monica and Gustav stood few inches away from us. Silently taking in the latest tragedy straddled between life and the afterlife. I heard Monica sniffle. Gustav held her close muttering few words of courage to her."I warned you all not to play hero, but you wouldn't listen. If you'd taken my offer, all this blood

Gustav's POV"Nooo!" Crude anger shot up my bones, setting me aflame. My wolf and I merged in an instance, lunging at Laura. She was too wrapped up in her warped cruel laughter that she didn't see me coming. I sank my teeth into her shoulder joint, pushing her away from Zelta. I left her in the care of Monica and Ludovic, while I took my pound of flesh from the psycho. I've always wanted to do this. Taking the back seat, I surrendered fully to my beast. Her time of retribution is now. Perhaps, she hadn't extended her tentacles to Monica, but the rest of us have suffered because of her. She'd taken too much from us. She poisoned Ludovic's mother's wine and killed Iris parents in cold blood. As if that was not enough, she made my mother's death the icing on the cake. For the sake of us, I'll gladly rip her limb from limb, and sever her head from her body."Zelta, Zelta!" Iris scooped her up, removing the dagger from her back. "You can't die now. Please, stay with us. We can't do this

  • Two Kingdoms, One Mate   Chapter 126: A Chance at Saving the World I

Gustav's POV"We have to destroy that staff." Iris announced, rising into the air to meet Laura. "Are you sure about that?" Ludovic asked. "One hundred percent. It's her life force." She pointed at the top of the staff in Laura's hand. "I'll try my best to destroy the staff. She dies, and we get to live. The bonus part is that she takes her undying army with her to wherever they came from.""What if you're wrong about that?" Ludovic had his doubts. Destroying the staff won't come that easy. Scenarios like this always ended up in tears. There was a catch to it. I could sniff it. "It's too dangerous. Please, don't try anything stupid.""You're right. I may be wrong. But I'm certain about one thing. A witch's staff is her life force. Her life is connected to that staff. That's why she never parts with it.""Iris isn't wrong." I didn't know when Zelta regained consciousness. The hit she survived really did a number on her consciousness. She supported herself with her staff, wiping off a

  • Two Kingdoms, One Mate   Chapter 125: Iris' Comeback

Monica's POVLaura was having a field's day wearing us out. The dead never died, our strength was failing, our number depleting, and the walls are crumbling. Our greatest disadvantage was that Zelta had been knocked out. By the look of things, it would take longer for the old lady to shift out of the supernatural coma. The ball of black fire Laura hauled at her swept her off her feet, snuffing the last air of luck out of us.From a corner of the bloodbath, nursing my bloodied left hind limb, I morphed back to my human form, sprawled to a pillar, stained with blood. We're all going to die, that's for sure. Claws snapped at each other, and the squeals of men carried through the chipping walls, as more men lost their lives to Laura's madness.Ludovic and Gustav were no use to us than they are to themselves. The litres of silver swimming in Ludovic's bloodstream had left him hanging on the precipice of life. In he middle of the chaos and a bruised eye, Drogo was doing one hell of a job p

  • Two Kingdoms, One Mate   Chapter 124: A Miracle of the Century

Iris' POV"Stay with me, Ms Iris," Klein wheezed, breezing past the blood and claws, out of the bunker. "Don't die on me, please. Hold on a little bit longer." I attempted speaking to assure him of my existence, but the words were too heavy for my dead cords to form. The poison had completed its cycle. Every blood vessel under my skin had turned purple. I was losing control of my limbs. To the humans, paralysis was the proper term to describe my present condition.I'd lost contact with my wolf. Her howls had reduced to a tiny purr. She shrunk herself to a corner, afraid for her and myself. The pinna of her ears had dropped to the ground, her tongue a deep shade of tundra purple. She dragged her weight about, fighting to stay alive for the both of us. Her healing virtue had gone below the threshold, hitting rock bottom. Throughout the period the devil's trumpet was introduced into my system, she'd pumped all of her juice into my body to keep me alive, hoping cavalry would come. Cava
