Eve’s POV:

I woke up feeling like a new person. My body didn't ache as much, and I felt surprisingly energetic. I glanced around and saw Amy dusting my room.

"I knew you'd watch over me like a mother eagle, but Amy, even cleaning my room is a bit much even for you," I teased.

She laughed and sat next to me. "I figured if you're going to sleep for days, I could at least tidy up a little."

About to smile, I froze when I heard her words. "What do you mean, a few days?"

"You've been sleeping for two days," she said matter-of-factly.

"What? And you didn't think to wake me up? We have so much work to do for the competition..."

"That's precisely why I didn't wake you up," she interrupted. "If I had, you would have jumped straight into work and exhausted your already poisoned body."

"That's not true," I protested.

"It is true," she insisted. "Now, excuse me, but I have more to do about the competition. And before you ask, no, you can't join in today."

"Why not?"
