Is Caleb falling for Leah? Brushing his hand gently against her cheek sure was a sign. Read more to find out...
Leah lay on her stomach on her bed. Her legs were bent at the knees and she slowly moved them up and down. Her grimoire lay open in front of her and her pens were spread out on the bed above it, as she wrote in her grimoire and adorned it with sigils and drawings. This was one of Leah’s happiest things to do and she spent a lot of time adding items to her grimoire. She hoped that it would one day be as full as her mom’s was. Leah was busy concentrating on an intricate drawing when her mom appeared at her door. “What are you up to?” Asked her mom, even though she knew what Leah was busy doing. “I’m working on my grimoire, Mom. I just love filling up the pages with spells and all things witchy.” Leah had a smile on her face that could light up a room. Amber loved the fact that Leah was spending so much time with her grimoire as it would one day become an extension of her, holding much power and guidance. “I’m happy to see that you are spending time bonding with your grimoire, but w
Leah and Caleb entered Silver Stardust for their shift. Both were excited to see what the day would bring. As there were no customers in the store yet, Caleb went straight over to the werewolf section to see if any new books had been added. To his disappointment, there weren’t any. Amber noticed Caleb hovering in the section and went over to him. “I see that you’ve gone straight to your usual spot,” teased Amber, seeing the sadness on his face. “I have a new shipment of books arriving this afternoon. You can help me pack them out if you like and at the same time see if there is anything in there that will pique your interest.” Caleb’s eyes lit up and a huge smile crossed his dimpled cheeks. “I’d love to help. You know that I’m always on the hunt for any book on werewolves. Let’s hope there’s one in the box.” “Then it's settled then. I’ll let you know as soon as they get here.” Amber couldn’t help but smile at Caleb’s excitement. She knew how much it meant to him to be able to
Abigail sat at her desk, deep in thought as she wrote in her grimoire. Notes of all of her experiences since becoming a fully-fledged witch. Each training session was carefully jotted down. Without meaning to, she started thinking about the girl in the scrying bowl. The girl who looked just like her, but for subtle differences. Green eyes instead of blue, straight hair instead of her wavy locks. She knew deep down in her heart that the girl staring back at her wasn’t herself, but how could that be? Her mother had assured her that it was her. But had she lied? Was she perhaps covering up something? Abigail closed her eyes, trying to make sense of it all. Coming up short. She was so caught up in her own thoughts that she didn’t even notice the papers swirling above her grimoire. Without knowing it she had used her powers and caused her papers to rise up from her desk. Her powers were growing stronger by the day now and she was alarmed to see the floating papers when she opened up her
Leah had no idea just how powerful it could be for a Raven to be following her. She was also unaware that Silden had targeted her mother, something that Amber would keep to herself. Leah was still angered by the fact that her one eye had turned blue, something she knew she’d never get over. Something that didn’t make her feel special at all. A change that jaded the remembrance of her wonderful ceremony. Amber knew that the first thing that she needed to teach Leah would be to protect herself against the attack of another witch. Amber could tell that Silden wasn’t extremely powerful, but Leah was an open target who needed to be shown how to do protection spells to keep her from harm. “Your first lesson starts tomorrow,” said Amber as she walked Caleb and Leah home. “We need to get started on harnessing your powers sooner rather than later. There is no time to be wasted for you are now an open target and need to learn to protect yourself against other witches.” Amber didn’t want to fr
Caleb had learned much from Seth. His lessons were invaluable and rigorous. They had spent much time sparing in both their human and wolf forms. When it came time for Seth to leave, he promised to be there for Caleb, should he have any more questions or need further assistance with his training. Caleb trusted Seth and remembered his warning to be hyper-aware of any other wolves prowling around him. One of his training sessions taught him how to sense the smell of another wolf, so he was aware of what to look out for.Caleb was sad to see Seth go, and Leah could tell as they walked together to their shift at the store.“Seth has been so helpful and vital to my learning about being a wolf,” mentioned Caleb, as he looked down as they walked. “I’m almost afraid to walk this walk alone.”“You’ll be fine. Just remember all that he has taught you and everything else will come naturally.” Leah was trying her best to cheer Caleb up but knew that he still had doubts about his ability to go thi
Amber’s concern for both Caleb and Leah forced her to reach out to Seth. A foreboding feeling nagged in the back of her mind. Seth answered his phone on the second ring, seeing Amber’s number on the caller ID caused him to act quickly, fearing that something was wrong. “Hi, Amber,” answered Seth, a questioning tone to his voice. “Hi, Seth. Sorry for disturbing you but we have a situation on our hands that needs our urgent attention.” Seth could hear from Amber’s voice that something was amiss and his heart rate increased. “What has happened? Is everything ok with Caleb?” Seth knew that Amber would only call if it was something important to do with Caleb. She had promised him to keep an eye out for any danger. “A stranger from another pack has been following him around. He said that it’s the same man from the clearing when you two were training.” Amber almost shook as she spoke. “Yes, I remember him. I warned Caleb to stay away from him. Has something happened?” Amber could hear
Leah’s concern for Caleb grew by the day. Knowing that he was in danger almost killed her. If only she could find a way of protecting him. Some sort of spell to keep him safe. Leah spent hours pouring over her and her mom’s grimoires, looking for answers. “Is there something more that I can do for Caleb?” She asked her mom as she joined her at the dining room table. “There is surely some sort of spell that we can use for protection.” Amber agreed with Leah and immediately pulled out the special grimoire, the one from the cabinet. Unbeknownst to Leah, Amber had also been searching for some way of protecting both her and Caleb. Leah’s eyes shone in wonderment when she saw the open grimoire. It was even more magnificent than she thought it would be. She could feel the power thrumming through the pages as her mother paged one after the next. Leah would have given anything to just touch it, but she had been warned by her mom and she would never go against her wishes. “I might have fou
Leah couldn’t wait for Caleb to return and grabbed him in a bone-crushing hug as soon as she saw him enter the store. “I’ve missed you so much,” she squealed in his ear, and truth be told she didn’t want to let him go. “Wow, if I knew that I’d get such a warm welcome I would have gone away long ago,” teased Caleb, back to his old self. “How was it? What was meeting your new Alpha like?” Leah wanted to hear everything about the new pack and Caleb was only too happy to share the information with her. “The pack is amazing and the compound is huge. You should see the size of the wolves. Holy cows! They are huge. I feel like a pup next to most of them.” Caleb told Leah all about his training session with Blade and about meeting their Alpha. “I’ll need to return to the pack every so often, but other than that I’m all yours.” Leah was only too happy to hear that Caleb didn’t need to move to the compound. The thought of losing him would surely break her heart. She’d had a few days to thi
