Chapter 25

Abigail sat once again on the bus. Silent and deep in thought. How could she have been so wrong? Why did she feel such a longing as she left the store? A longing she couldn’t explain. She knew deep down inside that she was somehow linked to Amber if only she’d gotten some answers. If only she’d pushed harder, maybe Amber would have cracked.

Abigail reached home and went straight upstairs. She threw her satchel to the ground and fell down onto her bed. Immediately breaking out into sobs. Her disappointment surprised her. What was she hoping to find?

Thoughts of the girl in the scrying bowl kept flashing in her mind. Who was she and how were they linked? Abigail just couldn’t shake the feeling that her mother was keeping something from her. If only Silden would have confided in her, maybe then she’d get some answers to all of her questions.
