Waited for my sister and the cockroach bastard to leave before turning to look at Hayden, who had a sweet and mischievous smile on his lips.

"Let's make a deal," I proposed.

He crossed his arms and nodded.

"I'll give you the month, but you have to pretend to be my partner. If in a month you don't win me over, we'll continue with this until my sister gets married, we'll be good friends, and we'll have a good time," I said.

Hayden scratched his nose a bit.

"Sounds good to me, but I know I'll win you over, I'm charming," he said with a smile and a wink.

I let out all the air I had in my lungs, and my shoulders slumped. I had gotten myself into the lion's den for being "mature" and not wanting to look like a loser with my sister.

"That guy is disgusting, how can your sister want to marry him?" he asked.

"I need a drink," I said.

I turned around and started walking towards the road; I would go to a bar, have a couple of drinks, and if I was lucky, I would find someone to have a good time with.

"You drank almost the whole bottle of wine; drinking is very bad," he said.

I stopped and turned around.

"You're twenty-two, at your age everything seems perfect, problems don't seem so unpleasant, but when you're my age, and you're lonelier than a fucking dog, all you want is to drink, and if you're lucky, fuck with some stranger to clear your mind even if it's just for a while," I said.

Hayden started walking towards me, then in a quick movement, I approached him and hugged him tightly.

"I'm sorry," he said.

I rolled my eyes and pushed him away from me.

"I don't want your pity, I just want a drink," I said and started walking towards the road to find a taxi.

"I know a good place," he said.

I turned around and started walking towards his car; he opened the passenger door for me, and I got in. He got in quickly too and started the engine.

"You can tell me anything," he said.

I turned to look at him.

"I'm going to traumatize you and make everything you've believed about love shatter. Are you still willing to hear anything?" I asked.

Hayden's blue eyes stared at me intensely, and then he nodded slowly.

"That bastard was my fiancé; we met in college, I fell in love with him like crazy, we were perfect. Months before he finished college, he proposed to me, my parents were happy, and I was the happiest person in the world, I loved him," I started to tell him.

Hayden looked at me quickly and nodded, as if telling me to continue.

"I was twenty-two, and he was twenty-five. After a year, he started to change; he wasn't as romantic as before, and that scared me, so I asked him directly what was going on. And you know what the bastard told me?" I asked angrily.

Hayden turned to look at me.

"That I was too young for him and that he needed someone much more mature, so he ended the engagement," I said.

I had never told anyone this, although I was venting, I still felt furious.

"Is your sister older than you?" he asked.

"She's twenty-eight, and she's going to marry him; they've been together for five years, but he left me because I was too young," I said.

Hayden stopped the car and looked at me.

"How could you accept something like that?" he asked.

Grace also asked me the same thing, but I did it for my sister since she told me she liked Felipe before she started dating him, and I, like the responsible and mature adult I supposedly am, told her that I had no problem with it, but deep down, I wanted to scream at her and look for him for putting his eyes on my little sister.

"I grew up, so that didn't mean anything to me, I just let it go," I said.

"You let it go? I think it still bothers you; you should tell her," he suggested.

I shook my head immediately; I didn't want to ruin her marriage, that would be shitty, since I know how much she loves him.

"How could your sister be interested in your fiancé? That's so low," he said angrily.

I shrugged; at first, I also thought about that, but no one can decide who to fall in love with, and she fell in love with him.

"Ex, and I told her it was okay," I said.

Hayden opened his mouth slightly and then started laughing.

"Then why are you complaining?" he asked.

I looked at him badly.

"You said I could tell you anything, and that's what I'm doing," I complained.

He nodded.

"Do you still want to drink?" he asked.

I shrugged.

"What if I take you somewhere else?" he suggested.

"I won't fuck you," I made it clear.

"Not everything is about sex, although I won't lie when I say I don't want to do it, because I do, but I know a place that will make you forget; it's much more fun than drinking and fucking with a stranger," he said.

I nodded; I would give this guy a chance for today; maybe I would end up having a good time. Hayden started the car; I looked out the window all the way. Truth be told, I had no idea where we were heading, but I wasn't going to ask.
