Chapter 59: The Wall Between Us

On that scary night, every breath that came out of her mouth counted and of course, I chased them despite how bad a disappointment I had was when the last time I left Mr. Vampire’s mansion in the middle of the night and heavy rain, never etched my mind that I will get back to this place ever again.

When Lane’s back landed on the bed, the white sheets began to change color, her fingers trembled as the guards tuck her in. By that time, her lips began to lose their rosy color which I don’t like because I have always seen her in rosy lips.

“Tell her to come here ASAP”

Mr. Vampire said to one of the guards and not long after that, the guard pulled away while reaching over the phone into his pocket; only Mr. Vampire and I remained afterward.

He held his sister’s hand tightly at the time; he was scared and confused, I ventured closer and sat on the other side of the bed, looking at Mr. Vampire with gloomy eyes before reaching over Lane’s hand.

“I believe she will make it…”
