Chapter 104

The mood in the room was tense and charged with emotion. I stood outside, seeing Xavier in an unusually vulnerable state. His tears streamed freely, and my heart swung back and forth between pity and bitterness.

As Elodie feverishly tried to save Levine, her magical chanting filled the air. Despite her efforts, the outcome was bleak. My father's lifeless body flashed before my eyes, and the agony of loss resurfaced, forcing me to relive that terrifying moment.

Tears flowed down my cheeks, and I struggled to keep them under control. The sight of Xavier crying elicited contradictory emotions in me. I detested him for everything he had done to me, yet witnessing him suffer stirred my long-buried affection.

Elodie's remarks pierced the gloomy air, foreshadowing Levine's waking.

"He will wake up soon."

When his brother was saved, Xavier remained still, as if stunned by the mental storm.

"Well done; now it's your turn to accept your price," he said, a tear coming from his eye.
