Looking out of the window of my room, I caught a glimpse of the new girl. She had caused a bit of a stir because, as an orphan, we have an unknown heritage.

She wouldn’t be the first orphan to suddenly come into powers when they come of age, which can cause all sorts of issues with the human students.

Her file says she was abandoned at the Oratory in Oxford, when she was only hours old. She was adopted a month later by a British tech mogul and his American wife. They had a five-year-old son already.

I see my Beta Seb and my head warrior and cousin James pick up her bags and head inside. I meet them in the common room, “what do you think?” Seb grins, “hot AF, dude she has legs that go on for days,” I chuckle at him.

“I mean, do you sense anything supernatural?” Both of my friends shake their heads, “no, but I sense strength from her, especially for a human, though that's not unheard of. She seems friendly, no spoilt bitch vibes coming off her, which is a plus, and like Seb said
