After the plane landed, we rushed to the hospital. Corbin accompanied us as well. As we entered the hospital entrance, I held onto Maverick’s hand tight with his palms sweaty and his body tense.
I glance over at him. “I’m here. We will get through this together.” I said, squeezing his hand with reassurance.
Maverick gave me a slight smile as he looked down at me. “I know,” He whispered. The stress radiated off him.
I stop Maverick, forcing him to face me. “Hey, try to calm down because if we walk in there with you looking like this, it’s going to put more stress on your mom. We know nothing yet, so we need to be positive right now,” I tell him, caressing his chiseled jawline.
