"Oh, no!" Amber exclaimed from her room and I glanced up with a chicken bone hanging out of my mouth. "What happened?"

Quickly, I rushed up the stairs and made it to her room. She was seated in her off shoulders wedding gown with a phone glued to her ear. I slowly sat beside her and ate some chicken wings.

"I'm so sorry." Amber held a hand to her chest and worry lines formed on her forehead. "I'll check on you as soon as we're done with everything."

With that, she hung up and stared longly at her smart phone before letting out a sigh of frustration.

"Are you okay?" I asked, putting down the chicken lap I was doing Justice to few minutes ago.

"No..." It sounded more like a whisper. She turned her head and fixed her gaze on the mirror. "I need you to do something for me."

"What's wrong?"

"My maid of honor wouldn't make it today."

"Why?"

"An emergency." She sighed and got to her feet.

"I'm so sorry," Compassionate me said. "Perhaps mom could fill in."
