Chapter 147
We got to the house and halted down in front of a shiny Mercedes as instructed by Mr Thompson. It was already five in the evening and I was looking forward to seeing Maya again.
She walked out of the house, buttered up in a black stretchy pants and a big tee shirt that had the writing, "daddy's girl" on it. The moment our eyes jammed, she smiled a warm one and waved at me. She adjusted her bucket hat and whispered something to her mom who pointed to her dad that was making a call by the other side of the house.
She shrugged like she was saying, "I'd still do it anyway" to her mother. She ran to where I was and hugged me. She squeezed me a little and I patted her head. It was really cute the way our height difference was.
"Girl!" Jade and Maya exclaimed as they hugged each other so tightly, I feared Jade's big stomach would push out the baby. Goodness!
