Chapter 581

Author: Angelica1
Henry's eyes widened, his pupils dilating as he stared at the white hair on Tina's head in disbelief, his lips trembling as he murmured, "Your hair…"

Tina pushed him right then, catching him off surprise.

Henry could not stand on his left leg in the first place, and he stumbled backward before crashing on his own bed.

Tina was touching her hair without knowing it as she kept quiet and turned to leave.

"Tina!" Henry rushed up, intent on getting the truth.

"Henry Barnes!"

That was when Mrs. Smith snapped before he could catch up, and he turned. "Mama Orange."

"Mom."

Tina stopped too and was going to Mrs. Smith when she shook her head, gesturing with her chin for Tina to leave. "I'm fine."

Seeing that, Tina nodded. "I'll check on John. He saved us, but I'm worried."

"Go on," Mrs. Smith said, while reaching out to hold Henry by the wrist.

Henry was still too shocked and wanted to question Tina, but he did not dare to shake Mrs. Smith away and turned to level a pleading look at

"Tina!"Seeing Tina standing there unscathed, Henry's eyes were red as he strode up and wrapped his arms tightly around her, excited as he had almost lost her.He rested his chin on her head, his pounding heart finally at ease.Thank goodness his Tina was alright! He moved too quickly for Tina to avoid him. Her expression turned cool as soon as he touched her, and she pushed against his chest in distaste. "Let go of me!"However, his arms were vines that clung tightly to her to feel her warmth. "Just let me hold you, okay?" he pleaded, refusing to let go.Just remembering her lying in the middle of the fire barely breathing left him feeling traumatized. He did not dare to think that he would have lost Tina and Mrs. Smith if he had not gone there…He clung so tightly he wanted her to be inside her, and only then that he would feel a sense of reality."What's gotten into you this time?! I told you to let go of me!"However, Tina refused to play along and remained completely u

Fortunately, Henry avoided the falling cupboard with the momentum from pushing Tina, so that he was not hit in the head.Still, it caught his leg and pinned him under it, leaving him sweating in pain. The flames around him were leaving him in scalding agony, but he was relieved to see John carry Tina outside amid the flames. He was already drained, but he could only think of how he never made things right for Tina and Mrs. Smith. He managed to free his leg eventually but could not move the cupboard blocking the doorway. His breathing turned labored, and he lay exhausted on the floor, unable to muster his strength even as the fire started to lick him all over. That was when the firefighters charged in and put out the fire, rescued Henry, and rushed him to the hospital.-"Tina! Mama Orange!"At the hospital, Henry cried out in panic as he sat up in pain, awoken by the agony of his burns."Mr. Barnes!"Hearing him, Andy turned and rushed to his side to stop him, but Henry spok

Henry knew that he must not panic now—it would take the firefighters at least fifteen minutes to arrive, and Tina and Mrs. Smith would not survive in that violent blaze. He knocked on a first floor unit and warned them about the fire, then told them to contact the building management and evacuate the building. Then, he bathed himself in their cold shower while still in his clothes and rushed upstairs to Tina's unit without hesitation. The blaze was so violent he could feel the heat as soon as he arrived on Tina's floor. His guts seemed to clench at the thought of Tina and Mrs. Smith being in there.Still, he quickly grabbed the fire extinguisher in the hallway and emptied it to put out the fires which had spread outside. Then, he struck the door with the fire extinguisher, which was already burned to some extent, and took little effort to break it open.Throwing away the fire extinguisher, he took off his coat and held it over his head before charging in."Tina! Mama Orange!"

  • Unfulfilled Last Wish   Chapter 577

As night arrived, Linda drove to Maple Park in Bob's car under the cover of darkness, stopping at the parking lot opposite Tina's block. She sat in the car, her glare venomous as she watched Tina and Mrs. Smith go upstairs, and she kept watching their window until the lights were off. After that, she waited for another hour to make sure they were asleep before getting out of the car and taking out a gas tank that was half her weight.Amid the silence, she carried the can upstairs despite the difficulty. Then, she pried open the front door quietly, sneaking in and quietly opening it.Once she poured the tank's contents all over the living room on the wooden floor, the strong scent of gasoline filled the room. With a third of the tank left, she poured what remained outside the main bedroom and the secondary bedroom, and then outside the front door. She then shut the door, cutting off any path to escape for Tina and Mrs. Smith! With her work done, she whipped out her lighter and ig

Henry was reading the medical report, while a disheveled Linda stayed crouched nearby, mumbling to herself. The report claimed that the abuse in prison had led to her mental breakdown, and specialists diagnosed her with severe psychosis, suggesting a transfer to a mental asylum.Henry then looked up, watching as Linda laughed one moment and cried the next, and she suddenly flailed his hands in the air while staring into thin air in panic.Through it all, she kept screaming incoherently."Don't come! Don't hurt me!""I didn't kill you! It wasn't me! Don't come after me!"Then, she was suddenly on her knees, her hands gently stroking something in the air as she murmured, "It's me! It's Mommy, Rory!"Suddenly, she broke into her run, and started hitting her head against the wall repeatedly, all while crying, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"She was hitting her head really hard and kept going anyway, as if the pain would not stop her.The prison guards had to hurry over to stop

In the live photo, Tina was busy eating while John watched her with a tender gaze.A lock of her hair slipped, and he reached out, gently tucking it behind her ear.As Tina looked up and their eyes met, she did not flinch from his touch, and their gazes locked. The live photo ended at that moment, and the watermark noted that it was half past eight.Tina never showed up at the restaurant, instead going on a date with John.Just the fact that Tina made her stance clear broke Henry's heart.-Over at Maple Park, Mrs. Smith was tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep. As she turned, Tina turned on the bedside lamp and asked, "What's wrong, Mom?"Holding her gaze, Mrs. Smith admitted, "I didn't want Henry to show up and ruin your date with John, so I texted him with your phone to keep him away."Jimmy was passing by the restaurant where you were supposed to meet Henry, and he told me that Henry was still there waiting."She then sighed. Her plan was not all about letting Jo

Time passed, and it was soon the appointed hour, but Tina was nowhere to be seen.Henry picked up his phone, keen to call her and ask where she was.Still, he soon put it down, worried he would upset her because of her impatience and kept waiting. He never had much patience for anyone, save for a five-year-old Orange when he was just ten, and never again. Now, twenty two years later, he was once again patient with her.Whenever his tea got cold, Andy would replace it with a hot one for him.But as Tina never showed up, Andy eventually told Henry, "Mr. Barnes, it's eleven."In fact, he wanted to tell him what time it was just an hour after the appointed hour.It was obvious Tina was not coming—she was always punctual and would have shown up on the hour if she ever intended to come.Even if she was delayed, she would have called or texted Henry. But it had been hours, and there was nothing, let alone any sign of her showing up.It was very clear that Tina was ghosting Henry on

  • Unfulfilled Last Wish   Chapter 573

Tina watched as Henry suffered so much he could die, but she did not remind him about how he had abused and neglected Sophie in life as they were in front of Sophie's candle. While those memories could hurt Henry, it would also tear open the wounds in Sophie's heart, hurting her in the afterlife whenever it was mentioned.Turning away, Tina bowed her head at the head priest and left with John, leaving Henry alone and kneeling in front of the unlit candle.Still, her words earlier were ringing repeatedly in Henry's mind. "Why, you asked? Isn't that obvious, Henry Barnes?! Sophie hates you and refuses to accept your candle! She's never going to forgive you!"His tears rained, leaving two puddles before him. After a long while, he looked up, his eyes puffy as he gently touched the candle in front of him, whispering softly, "It's alright, Sophie. You don't have to forgive Daddy now—I'll do my best to earn your forgiveness."Sophie was gone, and he could not make things right even if
