CHAPTER 1.2

CHAPTER 1.2

One week before the classes, I went to school before going to the mall to buy school supplies. I know it’s a rush since the vacation will be over next week. For sure, there will be a long line on each cashier.

There is an event currently in our school. It’s a one-week event and usually held a week before classes. It’s a cleaning program from DepEd. If you are a public student, are you familiar with National Schools Maintenance Week or Brigada Eskwela! This is where the students clean the school or the classroom then the teachers will sign a clearance form proof of participation in Brigada Eskwela. I’ll just pass by because I want to see what’s happening in our school.

I’m just at the first gate but the students can’t stop looking at me. I feel shy because of my OOTD. I’m not going to clean so just chill! Don’t glare at me!!!

I’m close to the second gate and I saw a bunch of busy students. That’s right guys. Serve your school. I noticed there are a lot of grade 7 students because this is required for them. To those Grade 10 students like us if we participate, grades will be an exchange.

I saw students looking at me! Gosh, this is embarrassing! Back off, Lou!

I walked out of the school. This is just a good choice because I feel malls are now crowded. It’s good to be there early.

I waited for a jeepney to pass by but a few minutes later, I didn’t see even a shadow of it. I have two choices because there are two accessible malls here in our place. The one is I need to ride a jeepney and the other one is tricycle as the mode of transportation.

Since there is a lot of tricycles today, I decided to push my second plan. That mall is small but I don’t have any choice.

“Kuya!” I stopped a tricycle driver. “Mamatid?” The tricycle driver nodded that’s why I went to the back side of the tricycle. I love getting on here because it’s calming. I can feel the fresh air.

I get my earphones from my bag and plug it on my phone. This is a 30-40-minute trip if there is no traffic jam.

YYY

40 Minutes Later...

I arrive at the mall. There is no traffic the reason why the trip is not too long. I’m still at the entrance door and I can see how many people are inside. I get easily mad and irritated when a place is too crowded. You can’t go through and there is a possibility of colliding each other because of a lot of people inside. But I have no choice.

I went to National Book Store. I was not inside yet but I stopped when I saw the length of the line. I’m an impatient person for your information.

I think immediately where can I buy school supplies without falling in line and hassle.

I remember there are school supplies in Department Store and I started there. It’s not complete but the most important is I should buy the valuable items. I’m here inside of the Department Store and there are plenty of peoples here also. Mostly, they’re looking for shoes and bags.

I straight ahead in the school supplies section. I get 10 pieces of Orions Notebook with a yarn. I chose a different colour since each subject has colour coding

I take three Faber Castel 0.5mm ballpoint. I want something thin because it makes my handwriting pleasant.

I went to the paper section and I get an intermediate pad, lengthwise, crosswise at quiz pad. I added a yellow pad since I love writing here a bunch of stuff and ideas. I saw a basket and I put it there all my handpicked.

I was only circling for a while in the school supplies section. When I thought I was getting what I needed to buy, I instantly looked for a cashier with a lease people in line.

I saw a cashier with two persons in there. I read the signboard and it says for Mastercard holders only. Thank God, I bring my credit card. I’m third in the line and there is a guy in a black shirt who’s in front of me. I looked at his basket and I saw a notebook, and other school supplies and I think he’s a student.

*ting*

My phone rang and I saw a message from my sister.

“Buy me a half dozen doughnut from Krispy Kreme” I started typing but someone got my attention.

“Sorry Sir but I already punched the items. Besides, there is a signboard says that this lane is for Mastercard holder only” I heard what the cashier said the reason why I looked at them.

“I’m sorry I didn’t read the sign. Can you please void it? I will look for other cashiers” I saw the anger but with respect on the guy’s face. My eyes became shocked as I observed his face. His face is familiar!

Hell no! This is Homber, right? The one who added me on Facebook and Gedie’s crush???

I went to the cashier and I get my credit card.

“Miss include this too. Here” I gave her my credit card and my basket full of school supplies. They start punching my stuff.

“Give him his receipt,” I said to the cashier and she nodded.

“Ohh thank you!” Homber said while smiling.

“No problem!” I answered and I smiled at him.

“Promise I’ll pay. I don’t have a penny. I didn’t read the sign also since I’m in rush” He explained. I smiled because of his facial expression. He looked stress! Haha!

“Why? Where are you going?” I asked curiously.

“I’m going to buy a cake for my brother’s birthday last May 5. Super late celebration” his answer on my question.

“Hmmm”

“You’re Gedie’s friend, right?” he asked. I looked at him and I smiled.

“Yes! We were friends since 2015 I think?”

“Hmm. We have a mutual friend. She’s my classmate when we were on 4th and 9th Grade”

“How nice!” I replied frankly.

“It seems like you were close with her,” He said.

“Yes. I treated her as one of my sisters by heart” I answered. It’s quite awkward talking to someone you didn’t know or should I say to the people you didn’t have any interactions with.

“Sir this is your card. The receipts are inside. Thank you!” the cashier said and she gave my credit card and our stuff.

“Thank you!” I said to the cashier and we get our paper bags. After a while, we go out to the department store.

“Hey, I’ll promise I will pay you back. If you want you can come with me if you don’t have something important to do so you can get my payment?” He said. I looked at my watch and it’s about to sunset.

“No need! You can return it next time! I have something to do! Hehe!” I answer in gentle

“I feel ashamed to you! I spend too much!” he replied shyly reason to make me laugh.

“It’s okay! You can bank transfer it to me. I’ll send you the details if you’ll going to back it.”

“Okay! Thank you!”

“Sure. No problem!” I smiled at him and I ride an escalator. I’m going to Krispy Kreme to buy doughnuts while he went to Red Ribbon to buy a cake for his brother. I smiled because he was more handsome in person and closely! I love his deep dimples! Rawr!
