15 : A LITTLE LEASURE, A LITTLE PLEASURE

ONE WEEK LATER

7:00am

Max was set for work– did I mention that he had not said a word to his wife for over a week? Maria had tried all she could but he was a hard one, despite regretting her words that instigated this she had refused to apologize to him. She was also being very stubborn and found it difficult to be humble – after all she was a strong woman who could survive with her husband, she thought to herself, and she could do without him.

They both living as strangers, sleep on the same bed, but don’t eat the same food and he had completely turned off every attention and love he gave her. She missed him so much despite him being so close but he was so far away.

Max would not eat her food or give attention – making threats to cheat is the lamest and wrongest thing to say to a spouse but Maria wasn’t seeing this and believing that it will just pass with her manipulative skills but all that had failed because the last time she tried seducing him by going naked in the room and coming around him, he just got up and left the room and went straight to the guest room and locked the door, leaving her shocked.

Maria had come downstairs to meet the breakfast she prepared for him still on the dinning table untouched and Max was already gone. She stared at the food then walked away, this time she had changed her mind and wasn’t ready to give a fuck anymore.

Later that evening when he returned Maria felt she had had enough and they needed to talk. Allowing him enter into the bed room she walked in, she stood there, straightened her shoulders boldly then cleared her throat but he didn’t even act like there was someone in the room, she frowned , her eyes leveled under drawn eyebrows

“Max we need to talk” she said but he ignored like she wasn’t there

“Did you hear what I said?” still no response, he walked towards the bath room

“Anyway when you are done bathing we need to talk… as a matter of fact you need to talk” she then walked away

After a while she returned to see him on the bed with his phone and laptop open in front of him, she walked closer

“Max” she called out but he ignored

“I’m talking to you” she said and still no reply

“Why are you ignoring me?” she said a loud and then walked to him and shot the laptop angrily, he looked at her with a stared that had neither surprise nor interest, believing she has gotten his attention she continued

“Why have you been ignoring me? Is it because of what I said? Okay I apologize for that but you should know that I was just joking” he looked away

“I didn’t mean to, I was just not happy with the moment then I kind of snapped… But that should be enough for you to be like this for God sake… why are we leaving like strangers? You no longer eat my food, and you completely ignore and starve me of attention” she blamed, Max got up and walked away to her surprise

The following morning he did the usual – Maria grabbed her phone and called her friends and requested they hang out somewhere in Victoria Island

Yvonne woke up at 7:15am, just then Arnold walked in

“Hey good morning Arnold” she said smiling

“I don’t really like that name” he said

“Sorry love, I do” she stretched her arms reluctantly then pushed herself up to a standing

“How was your night?” he asked

“No bad dreams” she said then hugged him

“Good”

“How about you?” she asked

“Long and noisy”

“Noisy? How?” she adjusted her head to look at his face

“I visited a music house but it was too noisy” he said and she stepped backwards then looked him in the face

“You went to a club?” she said as her eye brows shot up in surprise

“In there smelled like Beelzebub” he said and she chuckled softly

“What does that mean” she asked

“Lord of the flies” he said

“Please don’t spoil my morning” she said as she walked from the bed to go to the bathroom when her phone rang

“Hello” she said

“Hey Maria What’s up baby girl”

“I'm fine too” Yvonne replied

“OK Honey… Be there in an hour” Yvonne said and hanged up

“Where are you going?” he said

“We are going to hang out with my friends” she said

“There’s no more time” he said

“Come on sweet heart” she kissed his cheek, went into the bathroom and came out in 15 mins

“I noticed that you never took a bath and yet no offensive smell” she said while dressing

“We don’t, we are made from elements not found in your galaxy… One of the major elements being the Elixir-dor-el” he said—there he goes again

“I shouldn’t have asked, never mind” she said and walked to her wardrobe as he just stared at her – he was getting fed up of the fun thing, he wanted to get what he came for but how?

She dressed fine then grabbed her phone and car key

“I'm ready lets go” she said, he stood up and went with her. He was dress in a black suit

“Aren’t you going to change?” she said

“I like this” he said

“Make the tie blue” she said and the tie became blue

“Beautiful” she smiled

They got into her car and he looked around the car

“What’s that?” she asked

“Your car is lovely but nothing compared to what’s in heaven”

“Seriously? Now?”

“Just joking” he smiled

“(chuckles) Silly you… lame joke by the way” she said then started the car and turned to look at him

“Are there cars in heaven?” she asked

“Yes… but they are not called cars” he said

“What are they called?”

“You will find out when you get there”

“Waw, awesome” she said and drove off…
