Cai Kang is currently practicing martial arts on a cliff, overlooking the valley with only the full moon serving as her source of light. By the cliff was a large river, wide enough to go on a nice boating trip. Cai Kang is a young girl at around seventeen. She wore martial arts clothes native to the Qing dynasty. Her braid sways along to her swift and sudden movements. In the distance, it looks like a graceful dance in the moonlight. But it was a warm up before she can actually begin training. In the darkness, a man suddenly ambushed her from the bushes. She dodged his first attack sheepishly like she had expected him and fought him off for a while until she fell off the cliff. The girl quickly did a flip and landed on top of the water with the soles of her feet without getting a drop on her. She look at the cliff with a glare while the man looks down on her, unimpressed. Cai Kang woke up the next morning feeling admittedly almost too relaxed. The old man left as soon as Cai Kang got to his room. He didn't even bother to say goodbye. The last thing he got was a communication locket which works as a two-way call with its other in the possession of his father. Cheap bastard. Couldn't even afford to buy me an actual phone. Cai Kang had woken up to a knock on the door and saw it is Saeko. "It is time to wake up now. You should get ready for school." She said in a singy songy tone and left the area. Cai Kang yawned and looked to see she had left the school uniform and school supplies at his doorstep. After washing up, and trying on the uniform, he struggled with the tie before giving up. The necktie struggle is apparent to the others as he came down for breakfast. Saeko notices it and helps tie it for him. "Thanks" he said. He then notice hostility in the air. Kazuha is looking at Noriko and Toya with a deep stare. He could tell she is unhappy at them. Even her eyes are glowing. The twins were silent, which is unusual for them. Cai Kang could tell that they are scared. "Did something happen between you guys?" He asked, hoping to break the tension. "Thank you for the meal." Noriko said frantically out of her seat. Hi, I made this chapter before hand in case someone is confused with the terminology and a couple other things in the story. It is written in the chapters but this is a more detailed explanation of the things so far. This is information from the author's note section that was posted in the previous website that I've used before. I am still getting used to the writing features on here so until then I will continue to post some of my author's notes this way. Xian: a Chinese term for a person who can manipulate chi. The japanese version of this word is Sen. No one is actually born a xian and has to be trained in how to use it before they are automatically considered a xian. However, whenever a person is talented like Karasuma who had no prior training, that person can still be considered a Xian. It means immortal or sorcerer.
