My wolf was ready to fight, but I wasn’t. This wasn’t the time to act based on emotions. We were in trouble, and we needed to run for our lives,not stay and fight when I knew we couldn’t win.

In fact, I would rather die than be captured again by rogues. So, I did what I was good at, I ran.

I didn’t slow down. I didn’t look back. I couldn’t afford to be caught, and if I was, I would fight to death.

But my wolf had other plans. She swirled inside me, fighting for control, refusing to back down. She wanted to stay. She wanted to stand her ground and fight.

“Oh, it’s a female,” a voice taunted from my right, followed by another on my left. Both rogues were ugly and terrifying, their red, glowing eyes sending a chill down my spine. The sight of them dragged me back to the first time I tried to escape the rogues, before I met Logan.

But these ones were different.

Their eyes alone were enough to tell me one thing, that I shouldn’t mess with them.
