I laid on the floor in my cage, weak and tired from crying so much. I put the maid in danger and Logan didn't hesitate to deal with her. He whipped her for over an hour and at some point, he forced me to watch her. He didn't stop until she was unconscious. I closed my eyes tightly and the picture of her battered body flashed in my mind. Logan had thrown me back in the cage and told me he'd be back. I sniffed and sat down, trying to clear my head. A mate is supposed to be your special someone, who you share a connection with. I always wished to find my mate and I daydream of how he would treat me, love me and cherish me but I got a monster who rejected me. I was about to fall asleep when I heard two voices talking. The next morning, I woke up feeling hungry. My stomach growled all through the night, so as soon as I woke up, I brushed my teeth and left the room in search of food. I walked around for a while, getting lost in the castle, but it wasn’t for long because I was able to find the kitchen. I opened it to find different servants bustling and working, looking serious. None of them looked approachable and I was about to leave when a voice stopped me. "Why are you leaving? Aren't you here to get something to eat?" I looked back to check the owner of the voice to see that is was a male who looked like he was around my age or younger. I smiled and nodded my head slowly. "Come on in." He said, smiling and I followed him back into the kitchen. He brought out some slices of bread, lettuce, tomatoes and onions and started to make me a sandwich. I liked my lips and my stomach growled out, making me bow my head in embarrassment. "That wasn't my stomach." I squeaked out. "Yeah, it sure wasn't."
