Veronica POV 3

“What is this?” I curiously asked him as he handed me a key.

"You need to stay in the condo. We need to be careful because I know Steven will still doubt us" he replied seriously.

I was surprised by what he said because I can't afford to leave my mother since Aunt Mercy often leaves to sell goods in town. But I was also surprised when she said that Aunt Mercy doesn't need to sell anymore because he will pay her to watch over my mother.

I can't believe what I heard from him because he already gives me too much just to help him with his plans. I confronted him about it because I don't seem to agree with what he said.

"You shouldn't be doing that thing anymore because I don't want to get to the point where I can no longer afford to pay for everything you gave me," I said emphatically.

"I'm not doing this for you Nica so stop thinking that you have to pay for everything I do. I am doing this for myself" he replied seriously.

I was stunned by what he said and I saw the frustration on his face. Why is he easily stressed? 

I have no choice but to follow him no matter what happens even if I am far away from my mother.

"We need to be careful because when they find out the truth. I will be discredited Nica so please cooperate with me" he replied seriously.

"Okay fine! Just give me at least one day and I hope mom will understand" I told her.

"No problem. Don't worry, everything is temporary so you don't have to worry," he replied.

Suddenly his phone rang and he immediately said goodbye because he said he was going to a meeting. I just sighed and looked at Drey.

“Why does he still want to get so much when he has everything?

In fact, the problem of the poor like me is even bigger compared to him ”I asked Drey.

"When you are rich, you also expect that everyone has high expectations of you. Not all the rich are happy. Sometimes those who are poor are the ones who live freely" replied Drey.

"Why doesn't he just marry someone who is really educated or rich? I know Tyler has helped my family a lot but in fact, he shouldn't need me to hire me if she will marry a truly educated woman" I said.

"We both know that Sir Tyler doesn’t like to be committed with a woman. He has never had a girlfriend in his whole life. You are the first one but fake" Drey replied.

"Well, In fact, there is nothing more important to him than that he wants to prove himself and stay rich forever," I said to Drey and just looked at the key given to me.

Just a few moments later, I immediately said goodbye to Drey to go home because I knew that my mother was also waiting for me at home and I think she had already slept because it was too late. He reminded me of the makeover to be done tomorrow and I felt nervous about what would happen tomorrow night.

When I got home, I saw my mother sleeping soundly while Elias was drawing on the table. Elias immediately came over and showed me his drawing. I sat next to him while watching my mother sleep.

"Sister, I can't believe that Aunt is already fine now," Elias said with a smile.

"Me too Elias. I'm so happy because finally, I don't see her having a hard time" I replied.

"Yes, sister but you know Sir Tyler is very kind and humble because he always gives me food. When I was very hungry while I was waiting for mom, he gave me money to buy food. I felt sorry for him because he had a hard time finding the woman he is looking for. I forgot what the woman's name is ”Elias told me with a smile.

I was surprised by what he told me and just smiled when I realized that it was not easy for that man to find me. He would really do everything to prove himself to his family so I was even more convinced to help him. Elias and I talked before going to sleep.

The next day I woke up early to talk to mom about my move into the Condo. I didn’t know where I would get the courage to tell her this because of her condition. I took a deep breath before approaching her.

"Mom, I have something to tell you," I said gently.

“What is that?” Mother asked.

"I want you to understand me in the decision I make," I said.

"I have to move to a condominium because of my job. My employer needs an assistant every time he goes. I was promoted mom," I told my mother with a smile.

"Is that so? So you can't come home?" my mother said sadly.

"Mom, I'll still come home here when I’m off. That's a promise" I replied.

"But who will take care of me without Mercy? I still can't count on Elias" mother said worriedly.

"Aunt Mercy is not leaving anymore. She is always here to be with you. I will take care of all the expenses here at home" I said smiling.

"If that's your decision, I will support you because I know your job is important to you. Just take care always and come home here at least once" smiling mother replied.

I couldn't help myself and I immediately hugged my mother while crying. This is the first time I will be away from her. I don't know if I can handle the sadness but the important thing for me is that she will continue to recover from her illness. I extended her life in the way I knew.

Suddenly my phone rang and I saw Tyler calling me. I immediately went out to answer his call.

"Mom, I'll go out first. My employer is calling" I said goodbye to my mother.

She just smiled and nodded at me. When I came out, I immediately answered Tyler's call. As I expected, he reminded me of the Family dinner that will be held tonight at their house. I can't help but feel nervous. I still don't think I'm ready to get to know her family. But I always tell myself that everything I do is for my mother.

"Don't forget. I will pick you up at the condo later. I called Drey to help you prepare yourself" he said on the other line.

"Yes Sir" I replied to annoy him but he immediately lowered me to the other line.

I immediately put away my belongings and I didn't bring many clothes. When I left the house, I immediately said goodbye to Mother and Aunt Mercy as well as Elias. He hugged me tightly as if I would never come back. I was happy with this child but felt sad because I could not go home to our house anytime. I gave Aunt Mercy money so that she could use it at home.

When I came out of the house I walked out of our alley. I hailed a taxi and immediately boarded. The condo I was going to move to was also a few kilometers away from our house. I was determined to actually work for a billionaire man who helped me.

When I arrived at the condo, I immediately put down my belongings and sat on the soft sofa. The color of the condo was light and bright. I stood up to turn on the aircon and closed my eyes.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door so I woke up and stood up to open it. When I opened the door I saw Drey smiling and carrying paper bags. I immediately invited him to come in and sit on the Sofa.

"I'm sorry I took so long. I was stuck in traffic" he said.

"No worries, we still have a long time to prepare" I replied smiling.

He immediately opened the paper bags. These are beautiful clothes so I was very surprised because they will obviously expensive because of the marked Brand.

"This one is perfect," he said smiling while thinking of the Dark blue dress which is not that sexy but attractive and Elegant look.

"Wow, I think it's too perfect for me" I replied.

I was hesitant to wear that dress because it was so elegant compared to the shorts and Sleeveless I wore at the Bar. But Drey convinced me by flattering me. We first started with a rehearsal of walking, speaking, sitting, and eating like a rich woman. I still haven't lost my nervousness while thinking about what will happen tonight. I also rehearsed a few times to make everything perfect.

Around 5 pm Drey started fixing my hair and face for an intense make-over from a prostitute look to an Educated, conservative, and Rich woman. I am so impressed with my new look, especially Drey.

"You're so beautiful," he said with a smile.

“Thank you Drey” I answered, smiling.

Suddenly my cellphone rang and I saw Tyler calling so I answered it immediately.

"I'm here now. Hurry up!" he said.

“Relax! you are so excited ”I said smiling.

When I dropped the call, Drey and I immediately got out and entered the Elevator. The nervousness inside me did not go away and even Drey also noticed it.

"Relax, just be yourself Nic," Drey said smiling and I nodded to him.

When we came out of the condo I saw a car parked nearby but I'm sure it wasn't Tyler’s car because it was new to me. There was a man wearing a dark blue suit standing on the side of the car. I was very surprised to see his face.
