White lies

Tyler POV 4

"Glad you’re here now,” he said seriously.

 I wanted to step back as he faced me and my hands seemed to sweat profusely because of the nervousness I was feeling at those times. 

I saw Steven smiling so I frowned and anger built up inside me. I knew he did something with what was happening to me right now. 

I was surprised when my father smiled at me and spoke. It is the first time I saw him smiling like that. 

"I heard you're having an affair with a woman. Is she your girlfriend, son?" he asked with a smile.

 I didn't know what to answer because I saw him smile like that for the first time.

 I took a deep breath and looked at Steven. I was not surprised when he immediately led me.

 "Did you see Dad? He's already able to hide from you! He's a liar! He doesn't deserve your trust!" Steven said proudly. 

"Steven!" Daddy yelled.

 I shook my head and smiled because daddy was on my side at that time.

 I had no choice but to stand up for what I have said and make my opportunistic brother-in-law look like he couldn't discredit me.

"Yes dad, She's my Girlfriend" I replied smiling. 

"Ohhh I'm so happy to hear about that son. Why didn't you let me know about this right away?" Daddy asked with a smile. 

"Ahh, Actually dad I had a plan to introduce her but Steven preceded me," I said smiling while looking at Steven. 

“Ohh, I'm happy to hear it from you son. When will I meet that lucky woman? Do you already know her family background? ”Daddy asked curiously.

 This is the question I expect from him because I know his expectations from me so he should not know that the woman I'm dating is a prostitute. I have no choice but to lie.

"They have a Family Business in Singapore and Italy, dad," I replied, smiling even though I was nervous at those times. 

“Great! You have the right choice. Is she an only child or does she have siblings? ”he asked curiously. 

"She's the only daughter," I replied. 

"She also graduated and is aiming for a bachelor's degree but she chooses to help her parents in their business" I replied. 

"Wow, that's good. I think you should marry her right away son" he said smiling. 

"Dad…" I said, frowning.

 "Ohhh I'm just kidding son but if it's possible, you can do it for me. You know I only have a little time to spend here in the world. I want to see my grandchild from you before that happens" he said smiling. 

"Dad, please don't say that. You are still alive," I said seriously.

"Son, that’s the truth, that's why I want you to give me a grandchild as soon as possible. Because if not, I have no choice but to give the company to your sister Brianna since she already has two sons and Steven” he answered me seriously. 

I gasped at what he said because it was not easy to make such an easy decision especially since everything I told him was untrue. I knelt on him and held his hand. He was sitting in a wheelchair because of his illness. 

"Dad, please give me some time," I told him. 

"I have no enough time,  but..."  he said 

seriously.

He nodded and patted me on the shoulder and I just gasped at what he said. 

"Okay, I want to meet her as soon as possible," he replied.

 I can't answer what he said because I don't even know how to do that.

 It's not part of my agreement with Veronica that I will introduce her to my father as an Educated and rich woman.

 I know she is ignorant of that matter. 

 I can't imagine a prostitute woman like her to pretend as an Educated and rich woman especially to be my Girlfriend.

I no longer know what I should do at those times. I want to beat Steven and make his face who he is up against. 

After a while, I said goodbye so that my father could rest as well. I know his illness is getting worse each day he lives.

 When I went downstairs I saw Steven talking to Craig. I slowly approached and listened to what they were talking about. 

"Tell me the truth. Who is that woman Craig ?!" he asked Craig emphatically and I couldn't help myself but interrupt him.

"Why? Can't you believe I have a girlfriend? How dare you interfere with my personal life? You're so desperate dude" I smiled sarcastically.

I could see the depth of his every breath as the hot tension between the two of us at those times. I calmed myself down and smiled so he was even more pissed at what I did.

"Don't worry I'll introduce her to all of you" I said smiling. 

Steven couldn't stop himself and immediately walked out of the mansion. I wanted to laugh at that time.

I saw Craig shaking and looking at me so  I immediately approached him.

"You should not say anything to him, did you understand?" I said softly as we faced each other.

 "Yes sir," he said.

 I immediately left and got in my car. I had to drive alone first because I didn't want Craig to be involved in my plans. I need to be careful at this time. 

I know Steven is smart and he will tickle and doubt if he knew we were always together. I was thinking of calling Veronica to talk about what had happened and my father's desire to meet her. I don't know if she would agree to that but I was desperate to do everything to grant my father's wishes.

I hesitated to call her so I took a deep breath first to calm down. When I started to dial her number, I couldn't contact her even though I tried to call her a few times. I was so frustrated and thought about calling Craig. 

I immediately called him to ask if Veronica had another number and where I could find her. I need that woman now.

 "Hello sir, why did you get called?" Craig asked on the other line.

 "I can't contact Nica. Is she using another number now?" I asked seriously. 

"No sir but I know where to find her. I'll just text you the exact address" Craig replied. 

“Good, Thank you, Craig,” I said smiling. 

When I received the address that Craig texted me, I immediately drove the car to the place where Veronica lived. That place was quite far away but I was desperate to find her anywhere. 

Suddenly my phone rang so I immediately answered the call from the company. 

"Good day sir, I would like to remind you of your meeting with Mr.Villar at 5 pm." my secretary reminded me. 

"Okay thank you" I replied before dropping the call.

I shook my head and took a deep breath.

I almost forgot my meeting with Mr.Villar. Mr. Villar is a new investor in our company and I need to close the deal with him because it's billions of dollars. I want my father to be proud of me. I deserve to inherit the company he worked for 20 years.

As I made my way to the place next to me, I still couldn't forget what had happened earlier. I couldn't quite imagine that I would end up doing something I never wanted to. I don't know how I'm going to accept having a Girlfriend for the first time.

It makes me feel frustrated and depressed. I am also wondering if Veronica will agree to it.

I just sighed at what I thought and in a few moments, I reached her place. I immediately got out of the car and adjusted my suit.

When I looked around, there were many small and close-knit houses and many children playing in the front.

 Almost everyone was looking at me and whispering so I felt disgusted because I was not comfortable with their stares at me. But I just kept walking and ignored them.

I saw a narrow street where people were passing by, so I immediately went in. I just kept walking even though everyone I met was looking at me as I tried to call Veronica.

"Please answer me, Veronica. I need you now" I said to myself while repeatedly pressing the phone.

 I also called Craig but none of them answered my call.

Many houses in this area and I was unlikely to see Veronica. I felt tired walking on the street and a child suddenly approached me to ask for food. 

I don't know why I suddenly softened when I saw that dirty child and I immediately gave him money. I saw the child smile and run away from me. 

Craig still doesn't answer my call so I'm forced to ask questions of the people I meet even though I'm not used to a lot of people. My face is already sweating due to the extreme heat of the sun. I was holding my nape.

"Where are you Nica ?! ”I said irritably to myself. 

I just sighed and sat on the side while finding someone hard to find.

 Just a few moments later, a little young boy suddenly tapped my shoulder.

 "Sir, I'm hungry. Can I ask for food?" said the boy and he was very hungry. 

"Alright I'll give it to you but can you help me?" I asked.

 "Yes sir, how can I help you?" the child replied, smiling.

 "I was looking for a woman named Veronica.She has blonde hair, great eyelashes, and is beautiful," I asked.

I was surprised at how I described her. Am I wrong?

 "Beautiful?,my sister is the only beautiful I have known sir" the boy replied, smiling.

"Ohhh,not your sister.I am looking for a woman named Veronica"I answered.

"Ohh,I don't even know who she is.Im sorry sir,"he said.

 I just smiled despite feeling tired and disappointed and gave him money. I was discouraged to look for Veronica so I decided to just go home because I still have a meeting at 5 pm with Mr. Villar. 

"It's okay,here's your money.Go and buy food now"I said, smiling.

"Thank you sir"he smiled and run away from me.

I can't help but follow the gaze of the young boy and I see him go inside a small house.

I was so curious about how they live in that small house so I came closer to see inside.But I was surprised at what I saw and my heart suddenly softened.
