- Alie -

The drive there was silent—an oppressive quiet that pressed against my skin, heavy with unspoken words. I sat stiffly in the back seat, my hands clenched tightly in my lap, trying to steady my trembling nerves. My father, Dominic, muttered under his breath, his voice low and bitter.

“Act like the alpha’s daughter,” he snapped. “I don’t need them sniffing around our personal lives. We need this alliance.”

I nodded silently, my voice caught in my throat. My stomach twisted into a knot—an uneasy blend of dread and anticipation. My father was a cruel man, and I understood the weight of this moment. If I didn’t play my part, if I didn’t act like I was supposed to, I knew I’d be the one to suffer for it later.

When the car finally stopped, I looked out the window and saw the sprawling lands of the Fire Stone Pack. It was enormous, majestic, yet I felt as if I were shrinking inside myself. My heart pounded harder. I knew what was coming.

Ivan, the Beta of the Fire Stone Pack, opened the door, my father getting out and almost closing the door on me. Ivan attempted to reached in to help me out. "Dont bother" Dominic snapped. Ivan standing back up straight waiting for me to climb out.

His face was stern, a little rude in a way I knew was directed at my father, but I also sensed an unspoken understanding behind his sharp gaze. Sometimes, my dad could be a little arrogant—like he didn’t care much for the formalities but understood the importance of this moment.

He took my arm gently but firmly, guiding me as we entered the room. I kept my eyes down at my hands, trying to disappear into myself. I knew what today was about—how I was supposed to be nothing more than a pawn, a bargaining chip for my father’s ambitions.

They began talking about alliances, peace, and territory, their voices hushed but commanding. I listened, feeling the weight of my purpose pressing down on me. But then—suddenly—a strange, overwhelming hunger erupted inside me. A lust, a passion I couldn’t explain. It was like my body was no longer mine, that I was being pulled into a storm I couldn’t control.

And I felt it—eyes on me.

I looked up, trembling, and met Emory’s gaze. His eyes were intense, burning with something I couldn’t quite decipher. Electricity shot through the air—he whispered “mate,” and I whispered the same. An electric shock ran through us both, freezing us in place.

The tension in the room erupted into a heated argument between the alphas, and I couldn’t help but feel a flash of fear. My heart pounding, I sensed the danger in their words—and in Emory’s piercing gaze. I was terrified, knowing full well that later I would pay for this moment. I’d been told to behave, to stay quiet, not to cause trouble—and I’d done exactly that. But now, it seemed my silence only made things worse.

My father had intended to offer me as payment, a pawn in his schemes. Instead, he was withholding me, forcing an alliance he’d use to hand me over like a commodity. His grip on my arm tightened, yanking me away with force. Pain shot through me—bruises would mark my skin later, I knew—and from the look on Emory’s face, I could see he was furious enough to kill him.

We hurried back into the car, and Dominic’s voice cut through the silence, sharp and angry. “All you had to do was behave,” he snapped at me. I opened my mouth to speak, trying to explain, “I didn’t know—” but before I could finish, his hand collided with my face with brutal force. The blow knocked my head to the side, and my cheek burned with pain.

One tear escaped, slipping down my cheek—something I had long learned to hide, because crying only meant more trouble. My lips trembled as blood started to gush from the cut on my lip, warm and sticky. Dominic’s eyes darkened with rage at the sight of my bleeding. He was even more furious now.

I stared out the window, fighting back the pain—both physical and emotional. I clenched my fists, trying to hold in the tears, trying to block out the ache in my chest. Not just the pain from my father’s cruelty, but the heart-wrenching ache of being ripped away from my mate—separated from Emory, from everything that felt safe and real, for once.

I may never see him again, he wouldn't for an alliance with Ice Meddow now, i'm a nobody...

    - Emory -The fire crackled softly in the quiet of the night, casting flickering shadows across the room. I sat beside Alice, her face tense with emotion, her eyes reflecting a storm of secrets she was about to share. I could tell she was holding something back—something heavy—and I wanted to know, needed to understand. She took a deep breath and finally looked at me, her voice trembling but determined. “There’s so much you need to understand,” she began. “About me, about Matthias, and about what this really means for all of us.”I nodded, my heart pounding. “Then tell me everything,” I urged softly. She hesitated for a moment, then launched into her story, her words weaving a tapestry of pain and hidden truths. “My childhood wasn’t ordinary. My family kept secrets—dark secrets. I was born with abilities I didn’t understand, powers I couldn’t control. They silenced my wolf, suppressed my spirit, because they feared what I might become. They

    - Alice -As the hours passed, we all rallied together to prepare for the upcoming ceremony. The weight of grief and loss hung heavy over the pack as they mourned their Alpha. By nightfall, everything was in place. The pack gathered quietly, their hearts heavy but united, ready to say their final farewell.Emory stepped onto the podium, his voice steady but thick with emotion. He spoke heartfelt words about his father, and as I listened, a strange warmth welled inside me—a bittersweet feeling of happiness intertwined with sadness. It was as if I had lost a member of my own family. I hadn’t known Matthias long, but the connection between our spirits had been unexpectedly deep, strong enough to leave a lasting imprint on my heart.I stood beside Emory, my gaze drifting over the crowd. My eyes caught sight of him—Matthias—standing amidst the rows of mourners, clapping his hands and nodding proudly at his son. It was as if he was there,

    - Alice - The next few days flew by in a blur of quiet adjustment. I was starting to settle into the pack—people making eye contact, even speaking to me. It was strange, almost surreal. Lyra felt whole, like she could finally shine free, and I’d even been able to shift on the full moon to join the pack run. It was liberating, like I’d been destined to become this version of myself all along.Angora, ever perceptive, suggested we needed a calm, normal afternoon after so kmany changes. So, Emory, Liam, Angora, and I settled in to watch a movie. Liam sat at the end of the couch, Angora perched on her swivel chair, and Emory laid back on the sofa with me resting on his chest. Everything felt oddly normal—comfortable, even. But then I felt it—an ache deep inside, a sudden tear at my heartstrings. Intense pain surged through my chest, and I instinctively rolled off Emory onto the floor, trying to ride out the wave. My mind went fuzzy, disoriented, as if the outside world had vanished. Was

  • Unseen Sparks   Chapter 8

    - Alice -Me and Emory left the room where Matthias rested and went to our bedroom. I told Emory everything about what his father said except for the fact that Matthias was a spirit wolf. I didn't want to spill his secret because if it was time i would know, he kept it secret for a reason. We sat on the end of the bed, Emory nodding his head every so often. I watched him carefully as i spoke, his lips drawing me in, the air turning thick in the space between us, i could feel his desire and i could sense his heart rate speed up. My heart pounded in my chest, my mouth turning dry."Rip his clothes off, mark him, claim him' a voice echoed through my head, I laughed and knew it was Lyra. Emory looked at me and smiled knowing Lyra was getting fustrated. I assume Nixon was the same. I closed the gap between us and sat on his lap facing him, straddling him. His eyes flickering darked with pure joy and desire. Your hands found the hem of Emory's shirt, eagerly tugging it up and over his head

  • Unseen Sparks   Chapter 7

    - Emory -I sat quietly in my father's room, watching as he layed there, looking weaker than I’d ever seen him. His face was pale, his breathing shallow—pain etched into every line. I knew it wouldn’t be long now. The ache in my chest was familiar; I’d known for a while that I’d be stepping into the alpha role soon. Still, it didn’t make it any easier to see him like this. I loved my father dearly, and the thought of losing him was almost unbearable. But I also knew he was tired. It was time. The others followed behind me—Liam, Angora, and Alice—each of us feeling the weight of the moment. I’d been curious about Alice’s discovery earlier—her confusion about her wolf, her reactions. It wasn’t every day you met someone who’d spent her entire life unaware of her true nature. I wanted to know why her wolf had been suppressed, why she’d never met Lyra until now. When we entered, my father’s gaze shifted to us, his eyes tired but warm. I asked Angora and Liam for privacy while we spoke to m

  • Unseen Sparks   Chapter 6

    - Alice -I sat alone outside Emory’s office, my heart pounding so loudly I thought it might burst. The room behind me was silent, but inside my mind, something else was stirring—something I’d never felt before. A voice. Soft, gentle, almost tender."Alice," it called, as if whispering right into my ear.I froze, my breath hitching. My brows drew together as I tried to process what I’d just heard. Had I really just heard a voice? Was this some kind of nightmare? Or had I finally gone crazy?"Lyra," the voice repeated, as if it could hear my thoughts, more confident now. "I am your wolf."My eyes widened in shock. My wolf? I’d always known I could turn into a wolf—had done so in nightmares, sometimes when I was angry or scared—but I’d never heard her speak. Never knew she had a voice inside me.A shiver ran down my spine as fear crept into my chest. A wolf inside me? My heart started pounding even harder. It was overwhelming—almost impossible to believe. I was scared—terrified, really.
