Nick’s POV
I’m now walking into the mansion of one of my dad’s former friends. This is where tonight’s auction is being held. She always hosts these kinds of events for her foundation. She’s a multi-billionaire woman. Tonight, the theme of the auction is black and white.
Just as I stepped out of my car, she greeted me right away.
“Nicholas Ford! I’m so happy to finally see you. You’ve been ignoring my invitations ever since your father passed away. Oh, the late Agustin… I haven’t seen you since then.”
“I’m sorry, Aunt. I’ve just been very busy with business,” I replied with a polite smile.
“I know, I see you all the time in magazines. You’re so much like your father. Congratulations on the success of your business.”
Andrea’s POVI stepped closer to her, our faces nearly touching. I saw the movement in her throat as she tried to hold back her sobs.“I’ve been trying to be patient with you, Jessica. I let you have Nick even though, truthfully, I still love him deeply. Even though it breaks my heart to see him with you.”I took a deep breath and looked at her with a cold gaze.“You’re my sister. But… your happy days end here.”I deliberately leaned in closer to her ear before whispering,“I will claim what is mine… whether you like it or not.”Jessica’s eyes widened. I saw her
Andrea’s POVMy car nearly flew down the road last night from how fast I was driving the moment I heard what happened to Nick. My hands were shaking on the steering wheel, and my heart was pounding so hard I thought it would explode any second. I was terrified while on the road. Nick can’t die. He can’t be gone. I wouldn’t be able to handle it.When I arrived at the hospital, I nearly collapsed from anxiety as I ran through the hallway to his room. My knees trembled as I opened the door. And the moment I saw Nick, awake and alive, it felt like I could finally breathe. I clutched my chest, trying to calm myself. He’s alive. Nick is alive. But what truly filled my heart with joy was when he called me “Hon” and held my hand.My God, that’s what he used to call me back when
Jessica’s POVAs I entered the condo, I was immediately enveloped by a wave of sadness. It was quiet. Cold. Lifeless, every corner of the room felt as empty as the void in my heart.Tears began to slowly trickle down my cheeks. The place was dark. I didn’t even bother turning on the lights. I went straight to the bedroom and only turned on the lampshade by the bedside. A soft, dim glow filled the space, just like how I felt inside.I lay face down on the bed, hugging a pillow tightly as my tears continued to fall. I tried to hold them back, but it was useless, they had a mind of their own, flowing relentlessly no matter how hard I tried to stop them.“While I was crying, my mind kept racing.
Jessica’s POVTears wouldn’t stop falling from my eyes. I was happy that Nick had woken up, but along with that happiness came a sharp pain in my heart. It hurts so much to be forgotten by the person you love. I couldn’t understand why this happened, and even more, I couldn’t accept that this happened to me and Nick.I walked out of the room as if in a daze. I chose to leave. Even though it was hard. Because I didn’t want to stress Nick out. I didn’t want anything bad to happen to him, especially since he had just undergone surgery. So even if it tore me apart, I chose to let go.“Jes!! Be careful!”Scarlett suddenly pulled me back. I shut my eyes in fear as I heard the fast-approaching sound of a vehicle, it nearly hit me.I
Scarlett’s POVGeorge and I had already taken a shower and gotten some sleep. We stopped by George’s office first because he had something important to sign, and then we headed straight to the hospital. I knocked on the door and opened it for George since he was carrying the things I had brought for Jessica. My eyes widened the moment I saw Nick hugging Andrea tightly. And there was poor Jessica, silently crying beside them. I almost rushed to Andrea out of pure anger.George quickly stepped forward and pulled the two apart.“What’s going on here, Nick?” George asked angrily.“George!!” Nick said excitedly. “I’m so happy to see you. How have you been?” he asked innoc
Jessica’s POVI looked at Nick sadly as I held his hand. I just wanted him to wake up. I wouldn't be okay until I saw him open his eyes. Every now and then, I checked the monitor to make sure his heart rate was steady. The doctor had already said the operation was successful, but I couldn’t help but worry.“Are you going to work later, Jes?” Carly asked. I paused. I knew I needed to be at work, especially with all the problems at the office. But I also knew I couldn’t focus on anything while worrying about Nick.“No, I’ll file a leave. I can’t leave Nick. He needs me. I want to be the first person he sees when he wakes up.”She nodded in understanding.“I’ll he
