CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR - A REVELATION

"You better explain yourself with a proper statement, lady," she says as she folds her arms across her chest and taps a foot impatiently.

"Um... I'm... I'm sorry, Jess," I whisper, fiddling with my fingers but she narrows her eyes at me.

Jessica is a little bit mad at me for not taking her with me and going off to the pack border alone. She is upset that I risked my life because of her while she was sleeping like a goddamn baby. Her words, not mine.

At first she spends a good five minutes fussing about how worried she was when I didn't wake up for six days.

"Oh my God, Jayla! Do you have any idea how I felt? You didn't wake up for six days! Six freaking days! I felt like it was a scene from of of those freaking telenovelas I seem to have an addiction to watching. Those ones when you will go into coma and not wake up for some years, and then after you finally wake up, you would forget me and... and... "
