Chapter 5

I wanted to tell him that I was just trying to check if his scratches needed bandaging.

But he sounded exhausted, and my head started aching due to the hangover.

Obviously, it wasn't a good time to explain the misunderstanding.

So I decided to go back to sleep instead. There would be a way out tomorrow morning.

The next dawn, the dazzling sunlight woke me up.

Staring at the ceiling in bed, I realized that I couldn't come up with a solution at all.

Just then, someone knocked at my bedroom door.

I was so scared that I jumped out of bed.

When I was about to move, the pain between my legs brought me out in a cold sweat.

I thought of his size, my heart racing.

If anyone was to blame, it was him. He was too damn strong.

After all, I'd never heard Rebecca beef about Donny in this respect.

Suddenly, images of our wild sex last night flitted through my mind.

A raging heat settled on my cheeks.

Geez, shouldn't people forget everything about the night before after a hangover? Why did I remember every detail?

The second knocking jerked me out of my trance. I immediately walked over to get the door.

"Sweetie, did you see the gift? Have you unwrapped it?" my mom asked joyfully at the door.

"Of course," I replied after a pause.

Actually, the gift was still left unopened in my wardrobe.

"Do you like it? I wanna see how it looks on you," she said, ready to come in.

Startled, I blurted, "I'm still sleepy. Gotta get back to bed."

Then I hurriedly closed the door.

By the time I walked back to the bed, the man was no longer there.

Just then, I heard a noise coming from the bathroom. When I turned around, I saw a tall figure behind the frosted glass door.

Panic seized me.

'What should I do?' I asked myself.

I couldn't help pacing the floor restlessly.

How could he go back to the guest room without disturbing my family?

The bathroom door creaked open, and I saw him come out naked.

Unabashed, he walked to my bed, picked up my pink towel, and wrapped it around himself.

"Why aren't you wearing anything?" I asked.

He casually replied, "I don't have any."

"What? So you came into my house naked last night?" I couldn't believe my ears.

"I threw up all over myself after I walked in," he calmly explained and checked his phone.

His indifference pissed me off.

Was he waiting for me to come up with a solution for him?

"Wait here." I swiftly put on a T-shirt and jeans.

"Stay put. Lock the door. Don't open it for anyone except me."

"Roger," he said with a smile.

When I came to the living room, my mom walked up to me with milk and toast.

I hurriedly strode toward the door.

"Jasmine, where are you going? Time for breakfast," she said.

I bent down and picked up the bag on the ground, saying, "I'll take the trash out."

"Why's your face burning?" she wondered.

I gave an awkward laugh and fanned myself with my hand. "It's because of the weather."

With that, I opened the door and rushed out.

Based on my memory, I bought a T-shirt and sweatpants at the small supermarket in my community.

Then I wandered around the underwear section.

At this hour, there weren't many customers.

The saleswoman walked toward me and said with a grin, "Are you buying it for your dad?"

After a moment's hesitation, I nodded.

When I reached out for a pair of shorts, she stopped me.

"It's not your dad's size. You should buy a larger one," she persuaded.

"He's on a diet," I mumbled and took the shorts.

When I was checking out, the saleswoman stared at me with curious eyes.

"Got a boyfriend, right?" She gave a giggle.

I tensed up in an instant. "No. My cousin came for a visit."

After she handed me the change, I grabbed the bag and left in a hurry.

When I got home, my mom was still in the living room.

Seeing me back, she asked in surprise, "What took you so long? And why are you out of breath?"

"I went jogging." I made an excuse and ran back to my room with the shopping bag.
